I look at the maps in an editor (and analyze the general features of the mod) and form a first impression (no in-game play) |

I don't develop or go by first impressions, I will keep playing generally regardless of what I think |

How far do you normally play into a mod before developing what you consider to be your 'first impression', if you tend to develop and consider one at all? |

Usually within the first two levels I start to develop my impression, but most of the time I try to give it at least five levels.
I have learned from experience though that a strong start is especially important if you want people to keep playing your mod. I think overall, the first two levels are key for hooking the player and establishing the general feel of the mod. |

The first five levels or so, maybe more as things can change drastically after only a few levels sometimes. |

Three levels is usually all it takes for me. There are times that I have to play more levels before I really know how I feel about a mod, but that's pretty much a rare case. |

For me it also takes about three levels to decide how to I feel about some mod, but there has been some mods that seems to vary so much between diffent levels to make that decision hard. |
