Oh; SpawnPlayer doesn't take an angle, it takes an orthogonal direction. A quick modification of the line "player->angle = (1-dir)*90;" in SpawnPlayer to "player->angle = dir;" should do the trick (possibly with some modification of dir because trigonometry is weird), but you will need to change all the other calls to SpawnPlayer to match.

If that's the case, then I have to wonder how did I manage to make it work correctly anyway, including the diagonal teleporters.

I can't guarantee that that's causing the issue, but it's certainly something that you should look into.

Just got the opportunity to use my PC, and I tried. Looks like the diagonal teleporters worked because I have already modified the SpawnPlayer function to allow for diagonal player starts, but I already forgot about it and didn't connect the dots. So I just fixed the teleport function to give the proper input, and everything's alright now. Thanks a lot for pointing out the error!
