Basically, I am trying to replace the title screen in spear and I would like to use the base palette (same than for the sprites) and having a unique image of 320x200 (instead of 320x120 + 320x80).
Where in the code can I accomplish that? I have seen some end screens logic, but I am struggling a little for the title.

The code for that is in DemoLoop in WL_MAIN, specifically the section that starts "SDL_Color pal[256];" and ends "UNCACHEGRCHUNK (TITLEPALETTE);".

No problem. The reason it was split into two images originally was because the image was higher than the size limit for single chunk. That's no longer an issue engine-wise, but the editor you use might complain.

Would it be possible to rewrite this function to load a BMP or JPEG etc, instead of the game files, and use the base pallet?

It can, but if you're going to use the base palette anyway it's probably easier to just use the game files. Also I would not recommend using a JPEG. Razz
