Hi, I would like to make some maps for Macenstein, but when I load it into Chaos Edit, it looks weird, and of course not all the objects are there. Is there a way to make new maps for this?

The easiest thing is just to make the map files yourself. In the ChaosEdit folder, go into the "mapsymbols" directory, then the MS2 folder (You might create that folder yourself, then copy the WL6 files into there). You should see "Symbols.BMP", "Lists.TXT", and "sprinfo, txt". Just edit these files to use whatever names make sense when you see them in the map editor.

I don't have the Mac palette anywhere. Can I download it from somewhere?

I have yet to see a download link. Perhaps you could PM me an E-Mail address I could send the file to you?

I've tried this one. The colors appear in the wrong slots. Take a look at it yourself; it's terribly botched up. I think the picture file must've gotten some information disorganized in a conversion process.

I have the Mac palette. Would you like it in image format, or .pal format?

.pal format would be nice. I wish I knew how to turn an image into a usable palette, but that's another matter.

ChaosEdit can do this with 256-color BMP files. There are also numerous picture editors that can extract the palette, also.

Sorry for the delay, but just so you know, there are multiple ways to get the palette:

You could use the SNES extractor. I'm fairly sure that all non-DOS versions used the same palette

You could also open ECWolf.pk3, and export Noahpal, since S3DNA uses the same palette

I could actually find a decent file sharing site, but instead, the above methods are all I have for now.
