Is it possible to get Bloodshed C++ working on Windows 8 and higher? I keep trying to compile my project but it'll give me a "G++ has stopped working message" followed by a "C:\Dev-Cpp\KRUCIBLE\Makefile.win [Build Error] [wl_text.o] Error 255" message in the error sections.

I've tried switching over to Orwell Dev-C++ and Open::Blocks but I get frequent errors and warnings when compiling, even with a fresh and unedited version of Wolf4SDL. Sad

I think Officer-Michael John eventually got it to work:

I will probably never touch Windows 8/10 myself. You got me curious to try Dev C++ in Windows 98 now though. edit: Success!

Nah, afraid I'm outta my league (and patience Very Happy lol) getting it working on Windows 10. Soooooooo I'm probably gonna keep the desktop running with Windows 7 and the laptop with Windows 10. I'll go ahead and label this as solved, sure it would work but my coding skill... Meh. Razz lol

Due to circumstances, namely a laptop that keeps crashing, I've had to do coding on another laptop. That also includes a switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Somehow, I can't get Dev C++ to compile properly on it. Anyone know if it even works properly on Windows 10?

I think it should, but there's a reason that I switched to Code::Blocks.

I'll make that switch too then, because merely willing Dev C++ into properly compiling has not worked so far Laughing

Got a laptop that has wi-fi but no Cable Internet connection (Yes, it's a Lenovo). This too has Windows 10. I'm actually going to keep this OS (though it won't be my main one), as I'll need it to develop iPhone apps and games. If I get Dev C++ working on my laptop, I'll tell you how I did it (assuming I can properly retrace my steps).

Thanks! I got Code::Blocks working in the meantime, though.
