Just tried this mod out. Although I've only made it to Level Two so far, I can say that the features are - for the most part - presented to the player very well. It's done in a way that the player finds interesting, but it takes care not to overwhelm him. I love how you can't find all the secrets the "traditional" way, but have to take things a little bit further to unveil everything.
My only gripe is introducing the destructible barrel in the vine area; you don't even get a clear view of the object before you destroy it by accident. But it's probably been said before.  |

Thanks! Are you saying Level 3 or Level 4 is tough? Level 4 from practice seemed harder than Level 3.
Also what does 'added mutants' refer to? It was my impression that in the EE, all mutants from the original SODXT2 were either kept as is, replaced with melee mutants, or replaced with mutant in a barrel. |

How do you get the new weapons (melee and dual chaingun) shown in the screenshots in the first post? I didn't get either of those on Level 1 or any of the first four levels. Can use spoiler if desired (or send personal message). |

The screenshots imply you can get these items on Level 1. There is no Hans I found in Level 1 (or 1-4). And the melee mutant didn't drop any item I could pick up. |

Well, I do those promotional shots with weapon cheats, to make screens faster (using the first level, same was for SplitWolf screens and others)...
So everything promised is there...just not in level shown.
The same with the cleaver and such. It's about making screens faster, didn't want to mislead.
This mod has alot of things going on, slowly introduced. |

You have some nice skills. Excellent ammo management and threat mitigation. This is the kind of play I wanted to see.
I've watched level 3 and 4 videos. Well done dealing with the heavy SS in level 3 and ghosts in level 4. |

Thanks for clarifying. Feedback/commentary always appreciated, in fact it is absolutely THE biggest motivator for me. Level 19 is up & Level 5 should be around Monday.
I so wish there would be an EE for the other SoD Extreme, has some cool looking map designs for sure...but I LOVE having just that bit of extra 'spice' (i.e. some new features/mechanics relative to the original game) in my Wolf3D mods. |
