I find those flats to be kinda distracting/noisy but otherwise not bad for a new mod, I still need to finish the last three floors of my episode 1 replacement and get it out one of these days.

Been playing TFS2 and TFS3 to get inspired for Kurlandfront.
Never realised until now how flawed TFS3 is. Despite being more colourful, the level design is not up to par.
I was planning on keeping some maps at first, but they need serious rework.

I'm currently hand-converting my two unreleased MMC maps to AlumiuN's current EXE. Only one of the maps is complete; the other has maybe four rooms done altogether. I'd say at least half of the completed map was converted in just a few hours. The job may or may not be finished by tonight.

Edit: Well, that took a lot longer than expected. The map is ready to undergo the final bit of testing. Hopefully, it'll be sent out for the MMC contest tomorrow night.

I doubt there's much interest, but I'm nearly finished Extreme Wolf3D V4, and this time, I've finally removed all the bugs! I'm finishing up the graphics & sounds, and I'll probably release it towards the end of March.

Progress so far:
New sprites for: Pistol, Rifle, Flamethrower, Rocker Launcher, Spear, Chaingun, Gatling Gun, and Knife
Added bullet-tracers to all chaingun bosses
Added grenades-Use reload key to fire (GFX not yet finished)
Levels 9 and 19 have a "Map Alteration Feature" that adds/replaces entities...
New Schabbs-level Enemies added... To be revealed at a later time.
Everything has been re-coded
Added better explosion effects
Added RTCW sounds to enemies
Added Backpack full of items: Gives 9 grenades, 100% Health, 25 Ammo, and 1 Life (Replaces 1-Ups)
Added SS-Pack, a grey, less extravagent version of the former, dropped by the Rifle-SS soldiers.
Swapped some graphics for the SNES equivalents
And much, much more!

Yes, I like what I see. I noticed that the player's POV is a bit "higher in the air" than the original. Is this intentional?

I'm currently playing the MMC collection for this year (so far), and I've gone through all but one of the maps.

I'm also trying to get some Midi files and IMFs readied for the update of MMC. Two of the four IMFs are Midi conversions from an Amiga game called "Turrican 2". You can find one of the tunes I'm converting here.

Out of interest, how does one go about composing IMFs? (i.e. from scratch, rather than converting from a MIDI file)

OT - The only IMF composer I've ever seen was in Japanese, and I'm pretty sure it's a different format than what Wolf3D uses. Even Bobby Prince didn't compose vanilla IMFs; he composed in a different format, had it converted to IMF, and tweaked it to correct tempo changes and note cancellations. He didn't say what tool he sued to perform such operations.

IMF has since been exceeded by the MUS format, beginning with Doom. This format takes less space and is generally less limited. You can play back longer, more complex tunes, yet still do so with less RAM than IMF files.

Well yeah, of course there are better formats, but considering the modding scene I'm surprised no-one made a composer for IMFs specifically.

I'm currently working on DOOMLR, just struggling with mapping, but I've re-assessed everything and have been adding features, fixing bugs, one step at a time. I have a few partial maps made, but I need to flush them out more and I hope to retain a few maps that someone (I believe Thomas) helped map many years ago, and adapt them to the new features in the game. I don't want their work to go unnoticed.

I also re-played The New Order so I could play through The New Colossus with a better background, and not YouTubing through the entire game blind. It's more enjoyable to play first-time without any distractions. I'm almost done with the game too.
