If a Wolfenstein movie is released, Wolf 3D fans should make a mod of it. Would the DHW community be open to contributing to such a project?

You are talking about a theoretical mod to a theoretical movie that got cancelled long ago and probably never left concept phase.
Instead you could start making a mod to the soon coming wolf like "Overlord" movie.
You got about 1-2 months to release it along with the movie and make dhw famous in hollywood Thumbs Up

We made "Batman vs. Bane" mod fast to get it released before the movie itself (just based on trailers and set pics) to catch the movie anticipation wave, and I think it had to do some with it being the most downloadable TR mod on moddb of all times.
Though there is at least one good other explanation for that - me promoting it's link on most famous Batman news site in exchange for hot Gal Gadot news/translations.

Best rule is - talk less, do more Smile
Polling opinions before each mod is non-productive, start something that you think is a good idea for a mod, and if you want - correct it on the way based on screens feedbacks.

Making an Overlord video game should be easy. I can just make D Day looking Wolfenstein 3D maps with Nazi soldiers, mutants, and Schabbs. I can just watch the trailer and figure out how to make it. Starting on it right now. It will be 5 levels and a simple Wolfenstein 3D mapset.

I will use Macenstein as a base for the project.

I'd say it's a little early to announce a mod so quickly after the development cycle begins. There's bound to be technicalities and storyline elements that need to be patched up, and what the mod is about ends up needing to be changed. I encourage you to just work on a mod for a while and let things be finalized. *After* you do that is a far better time to make public announcements about your mod. Smile

I decided to discontinue these video game mods for now. I have moved onto a 10 level video game mod project. I discontinued this video game because I do not like the idea of only 6 levels and just a plain mapset. I want to do something more with Wolfenstein 3D modding that does not just feature plain Wolfenstein 3D maps.

I don't know, anyone else remember the "Street Fighter" game based off the movie based off the game? No? Probably for the best...

I imagine that the iPhone market for games has the best chance of doing it right. You're not battling DirectX issues, graphics chips issues, and so on. It's much like the first half of the 1980s where versatility and experimentation was still encouraged. It doesn't have to be 3-D unless you just want it to be. I do plan to go into this market when my 8-bit project has a stopping point in it.

Not to get off topic, but it's funny you say this, I announced my first mod, Halls of Stonehenge, before I'd even downloaded or tried any of the editing tools for the first time, I would up regretting it pretty quickly!
