Looking at the source code for random death sounds for the guard, it references "DEATHSCREAM3SND". In WDC is see 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9 - but no 3. Where is it???

It's right after ATKPISTOLSND, on the top half of the digitized sounds list.

I can see it listed in the source audio file but while editing the game in WDC, deathsound #3 only shows up in PC or Adlib sounds. There is no "WAV" file to play/edit.
So I guess if you're playing using SoundBlaster - it skips that one?

Actually, if you're using digitized sound it plays the same sound as DEATHSCREAM2SND; this is due to how it's entered in the digimap in WL_MAIN.CPP.

Thanks AlumiuN. I see that now. For Wolf, it will play #2. In Spear, it plays #4. Those sounds would have a higher probability of being played.

Very interesting. I saw two sounds that used the same number in digimap the other day and noticed it a few times before, and wondered what was going on, if it was an oversight or intentional. Now it all makes sense I guess Very Happy
