For a long time I've been frustrated at the lack of vanilla-style crate textures for Wolfenstein 3D. In Coffee Break Episode 2 I used some textures from an early WSJ mod, but they were very old, rather ugly, and not suited to the Wolf3D graphical style. However, yesterday I saw some crate textures on zdoom.org made by FuzzballFox and one sprite sheet had the crates in flat colors to allow an overlay texture to be applied. I rummaged through my flats folder, found a couple of suitably grainy looking noise patterns, and got to work. The resulting crates are a combination of bits and bobs from FuzzballFox, Id Software (Doom, vanilla Wolf3D), and WSJ, and I think they look pretty crate great:

This pack contains 8 variants with both bright and shaded versions, in the original Wolf3D palette. Variants F and G are rotations of each other, shaded where the other is bright and vice versa (to give the appearance of two long crates instead of one wide, flat crate on the bottom). You may do whatever you want with these as long as credit is given to me and the people whose work I used. The bottom left corner of the sheet contains flats so the crates may have a top in the case of future mods or ports that have height variation.

They look pretty neat. Thank you for sharing!

AlumiuN, would these be a good addition to the ML mapping kit? Mr Green

Best,

Ariel
