I could never get them stabbed to death without taking damage, so yeah - shooting them is definitely the way to go for me. Besides, stabbing one enemy after another would get awfully slow and tedious.

I think I was once able to kill a stationary mutant with only one stab on the back, and on I Am Death Incarnate!

Pretty rare to have it happen. If I am remembering correctly and it did indeed happen, then it was only that one time.

That's odd if it did happen, because unless I missed something, the highest possible damage a knife stab can do is (255 / 16) * 2 = 30, and mutants have 45 health minimum.

Well sometimes you can kill enemies with one shot right before they notice you.

Hence the "* 2" in my post. Any damage done to an enemy not in attack mode is doubled.

Near the end of E2L6, there are two mutants. I chose to stab them both in the back Very Happy

They both died from my first stab luckily (on Death Incarnate). Maybe because it's a beta so they weren't fully coded yet? Laughing

It's split into two parts; This is the part from KnifeAttack:

True, you can successfully stab a Mutant to death if you exploit a glitch in the game. It's possible to block a Mutant halfway to his destination square so he's trying to walk towards that square endlessly. He can't enter Attack Mode for whatever reason, so he's basically locked into a walking cycle until you move out of the way or kill him. All 8-directional enemies are prone to this glitch, but I haven't figured out 100% how to pull it off. I always do it by accident if it ever happens at all. Confused

I'd rather shoot, but often with one shot. Especially with a pistol. Have rarely had any luck stabbing mutants.

What dinky version of Wolfenstein is this?? Looks quite interesting. Can it be done in ordinary v1.4 SDL though?

Stupid missing floor code problem?
Bugged enemies have like 1 health point... the ones not recognizing the player even if you dance in front of them.

By the way, I vote shoot because they have quick reaction time, high attack rate and deadly damage.
I would rather try to stab isolated SS.

Despite the sheer loss of life and limb, it can be quite satisfying to dispel mutants in a more subtle way...Not easy, but satisfying on the occasion that it does work.

Oh, that happens sometimes in "finished" versions as well. You kill an officer, guard/whatever and some of the guys don't seem to notice the kills nearby.
