What would be good C++ code that simulates an Atomic Bomb in Wolfenstein 3D without using new sprites?

I was thinking more along the lines of having an Allied soldier in the video game detonate the atomic bomb which causes the screen to go to red and display a read this message ending the game after the bomb is activated.

One of my first mod ideas was to have a large picture of a bomb on the bottom right corner with a 45 minute timer on it going down, and you had that amount of time to beat the 18-21 levels (based on Spear) before it blew up. I even wrote a 45 minute progressive/intense keyboard song to go with it to keep you on your toes, entirely using one instrument (14 Synth Ends). I wish I would have recorded it as now I can't remember the melodies or sections. That was before I found out about Mapedit I think.

I would say code in a button that causes all enemies and the player to die at the same time as the atomic bomb, with the screen turning white instead of red.
