Greetings! After twenty years, I am proud to announce that Operation: Wasserstein is now released!

This is my little homage to Wolfenstein 3D, and I hope you will find it enjoyable. It is more difficult than vanilla Wolf, but not unreasonably so for the thoughtful player. I suspect the average Wolfer will get around 5-7 hours of play time.

You will require a recent development build of ECWolf, and a valid copy of Wolfenstein 3d Registered.

For the story, please consult the "Read This" menu option in-game. I suggest the "Recommended" difficulty, but if you want less of a challenge (or headache!) go for "Easy".




My intention was to create a mod that feels very much like a “director’s cut” version of the original game. Whilst I have incorporated new weapons, new guards, and some special code features, I have tried not to stray far from the original feel. Thus, you won’t find special artefacts, invincibility power ups, or “supernatural” components. I have also used a high number of assets, both my own and some freely available that I’ve modified to suit the project.

In addition to the standard guns, I’ve added my own takes on the flamethrower and rocket launcher, as well as a special weapon that I hope to be a surprise in the game.

There are twelve new enemies and five new bosses, spread over 20 levels.

I never thought this mod would see the light of day, so thank you to all those who kept its memory alive these past twenty years. Please feel free to share any thoughts you may have. Enjoy!

Very impressive. Fairly certain this is the first Wolfenstein mod that was announced 20+ years before its release. It looks good. Enjoy the scientists and the tweak you made to the stained glass wall (dark blue) as well as the checkered floors. Would you consider an SDL port at some time or other?

I'm definitely open to an SDL port, though that is beyond my present knowledge-base. If somebody wished to assist me in porting it, I would happily do so.

Congrats on the release! At the moment, my time is quite limited due to learning for my exams at the end of the semester, but it really looks promising.

Those of you frustrated with the difficulty: I've just uploaded an amended version that includes an easier difficulty setting for a less hardcore experience.

I started playing this game many times, frustrated with default difficulty level, unable to find machine gun and stopped playing. After watching the youtube walk through i want to try it again. I wonder ladies play wolf games these days Razz Very Happy

In 7th stage. While in the end elevator of level 6, tried to save game and game quits. A bug probably.

Do you have a recent build of ECWolf? I've not encountered any crashes or bugs in the mod itself.

I am using Lzwolf 64 bit because for some mods Lzwolf won't ask original wolf files. But for this mod Lzwolf asked original wl6 files. The game was saved even it quit with error. No problem.

The save assertion error happens randomly. Still not sure what causes it. It’s an engine issue not the mod.
