My favorite episode is the 3, because there is Hitler himself. It's my best remember on Wolfenstein 3d. Razz

My answer is not complete. I love the rythmn is this episode and the levels are not too long. But it's true, for the atmosphere, the episode two is the best ! I love the mutants Razz.
I'm not a fanatic of the challenge. For this reason i not choice the episode 6. But i know: All the wolfers love the episode 6 Exclamation

I voted for episode five because taking all the levels together, I think it adds up to the best episode. However, my 3 favourite levels are on other episodes: e2l6, e4l5 and e6l8. Episode 3 is also good overall, very atmospheric, though most of the levels are not that large.

I picked Episode 3 mainly because you get to beat on Hitler, and the fact that I hate him, Episode 4 was also pretty easy but the boss was way too easy, and Episode 6 was I think too mazy. Episode 1 got old way too fast for me. But I also thought Episode 6 had well designed levels. Smile

Haha, nearly all Wolf levels are well-designed, c'mon Wink. Honestly I mostly disliked Ep. 2. I still remember talking with my cool friend when I was about 5 years old "Hey! Do you know that in Episode Three you have to kill that big guy from Germany? He's got fifty chainguns! Argh, why can't I choose that episode? Why is it green! Uh! Daddy!". Hahahaha. Very Happy

I didn't like episode 2 either, especially level 8 because it had like over 100 secrets in that level, and it was impossible to get them all.

No easy choice indeed... But well, I picked 'Confrontation'. I perhaps like it a bit better than the others -or I find it a little more interesting let's say- because I believe it has the 'least conventional' levels. Just my opinion, of course.

I picked Confrontation because it is a really hard, interesting and needs player to think a bit. Maybe because it is the last episode.

I thought Episode 5 was pretty cool, it got pretty hard towards the end.

I chose Episode 3. My reasoning is similar to Mike's - you get to kill Hitler!! Which I thought was SO COOL at the time. And it was also the first episode I managed to complete on Death Incarnate mode, too.

So far noone's chosen episode 2! This surprises me, considering there are about 6 gazillion remakes of Episode 2 out there.

Yeah that is kind of weird. Also no one picked Episode 4 either.

I hate ep. 2 because it has green walls, lots of mutants and mazes. Mr Green

I hated episode 2 because the mutants are a pain to kill because they shoot you before you get a chance to shoot them.

I didn't "hate" anything about Wolfenstein 3d... I thought episode 2 was a good change of pace, rather than it being six very similar episodes. But it's true, the mutants are SO HARD TO KILL!! And the last level of that episode I found an absolute nightmare on the two hardest skill levels.

Still, I like that episode. It has Schabbs, dammit!

I thought episode 6 was a good change of pace, because it was a pretty mazy and challenging episode rather than simple ones like episodes 3 and 4, even though I didn't like episode 6 too much.

You are right. It was really challenging. Mazy? Hmm... oh yeah, maybe a bit Smile. Anyway it's still my numero uno. Wink

I agree because in episode 2 you had to kill mutants, and it made it challenging, I thought episode 2 was one of the harder episodes.

It really surprised me that so many people were talking about Episode 6! Back at the old Fanclub, everyone was either praising episode 1, 3 or 5. I would totally agree with you guys, though, the bigger and "less-conventional" levels are great - and challenge-wise, this one takes the cake! Always loved this episode, and I'm glad to see that others are enjoying it too.

Since there was already four votes for Episode 6, I decided to go with my other all time favorite - Episode 2! I just really loved the atmophere that was created with the mutants, slime walls, music, and level design. As Hair Machine said, it was a nice change of pace - and Wolfenstein just wouldn't be the same without it. They're all great episodes in their own way; but those two have always been extra special for me. Wink

Brian's level picks are pretty cool; and actually very similar to mine! If you're curious, here's another thread that talks about people's favorite episodes in wolfenstein 3d... maybe you'll find it interesting:

Planet Wolfenstein - what's your favorite episode of wolf3d?

ack wrote:
It is beautifully put together as far as level design and game play is considered. And truth be told? It is the only episode in which I have a higher score than the Choksta (the little speed demon) - lol.

Haha... your submission suprised the hell out of me man! You certainly showed me that speeding to the elevator doesn't always work as well as getting 100% ratios. That was the first episode I posted my score for, and after posting it; I just never looked back on it (assuming no one would ever come close anyways). Boy, was I ever wrong! If anyone doesn't believe ack's score is real, here's a sneak peak at our level stats (might be giving some secrets away by posting this, but hey - could also inspire some new competition; who knows):

Looking over our ratios for each level, it's awesome how alot of our strategies were totally different; while many of them were exactly the same. Yours for levels such as 4 and 6 were obviously far superior. I'm sure if we combined mine from levels 1 and 3 (and possibly level 8?) with those of yours... we could make some kind of insanely challenging to beat, superhumanous score on our next attempt - lol. Well, I have a feeling that no one is ever going to touch my Episode 2 score... but if you want to try it out, I'd love to see what kind of crazy stunts you could pull in that department. Your brilliant Episode 6 score is enough to keep me more than satisfied for life; either way. Smile

hell yeah! episode 2 kicked ass, since not only does it have the best atmosphere and music to go with it, but the mutants were so deadly; you could alert 12 of them and never know, whereas if you alerted 12 SS you'd hear "Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Shutzstaffel!" Plus the secret level was neat, since you could go through the level multiple times without even knowing how much stuff was in there.

I like both episodes 1 & 5.But I punched #1 as a vote because,I didn't have a hard time beating episode 1 with a Joystick.

I use to prefer using joysticks in FPS games.

I like Episode 3's secret level cause it was weird yet cool, also cause you could get so many points in the level, it was actually like a little pacman game when you entered the level but the guards are there to take you back to reality. I thought the first couple of times I ever played the level that the ghosts would throw you off the wolfenstein world and into pacman world.
