Run the game.... Press the PRINTSCREEN/SysRd Button...
Open your favorite graphics program... even MS Paint will work...

Press Shift-Insert and your screenshot will be pasted into the picture..

I'm making a new TC for Wolfenstein 3d and I can't take any screen shots in my game! I've got a Windows XP and pressing "print scr/sys rq" in the game then going into my paintbrush program and pressing "shift + insert" doesn't work. Help?!
Confused [/b]

You know what I foudn out? That on some computers you have to press Alt + Print Scrn. I thoguht I had disproved that recently but I went to a friend's house (he had XP) and Print Scrn by itself did not work. But Alt + Print Scrn did. So try that. Then use the Edit > Paste command in MS Paint.

Hope it helps.

Sorry, but the two suggested ways to take screen shots have not worked.
Sad If anybody would be able to suggest something, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you,
Reivax

Reivax44, are you using XP? I'm having a problem I can't take screenshots at all in XP, using all methods described. I finally just gave in and took screenshots on an old Win98se computer. . . Evil or Very Mad

I went to take a screenshot yesterday for the first time with the new computer and it wouldn't work. I tried just Prnt Screen and Alt + Prnt Screen and neither worked. Is there another way you have to do it on XP or something else?

I think thejosh wrote something about this before. In Windows XP, the option for capturing screens has been disabled. I just use a combination of Paint Shop Pro 3 (which is free, and easily found on google; which has an option for capturing your screen and/or current window) and DosBox (because Wolfenstein originally runs full screen; thus making it abound by PSP's capturing feature). DosBox itself also has an option to capture screens, but I like just using a combination of both programs; so I can save the screenshot to whatever format I want. Here's a link to some info on DosBox:

Maybe you'll find this method interesting, maybe you won't... but if you need a quick solution, using that combination works well in Windows XP. I use PSP and DosBox for almost everything now! Smile
