I am very curious of one thing - have you ever, guys, created a map with a sort of hidden designs inside of it? I mean, for example, the swastikas hidden in the map design in original Wolfenstein 3D, or last level of one of B.J. Rowan's sets, called "Symbolism", which is one big swastika. Also I have an information from Chokster that one of Wolfenstein levels is just a one big eagle. That's pretty interesting. Have you ever done something like that? I myself did only the ones with my initials and some swastikas, lol Wink. Mr Green

Yup, I'd definately agree with ack that many map makers have tried to hide shapes into their designs (some of the Lost Episode maps are great examples; like he said). To go along with what your comments Martin; me and Jack Ryerson actually had a few chats about the "symbols inside the layouts" a long time ago. Instead of just rewriting everything we discussed, here's a little preview of our silly 'Eagle, Initials, and Nazi Signs' conversation:

Would be cool if someone here posted a story about a hidden layout they found in a map, eh? I had a very crazy experience with one of them in Chemical Warfare. Man, the whole idea that I actually noticed this design after (yes, AFTER) writing Jack a huge email about how I wanted to live my entire life isolated in THAT room (don't ask, it was a really weird sense of belonging when me and this room bonded - and how this silly room inside a computer game was exactly what was missing from my life! lol). It's hidden 'design' actually has a cool meaning that ties into one of the biggest secrets of the game, too... Mr Green

Another cool thing to read, Chris. Hey.. I've just realized that the secret level from sixth episode (Confrontation) - that mazy one with lots of guards is something like an iron cross. Hah - searching for stuff like that is pretty funny! Very Happy

I have used symbolism before - mainly just swastikas in the light patterns and layouts. I find the original to be really interesting in its amount of symbols, though - especially episode 3 level 7. Not only is it an oddly short and uneventful level, but it contains the initials of both map designers, one of the stragest secrets in any game, and the beginning hallway is shaped like a question mark. In short, it's a really strange level.
