Well, here's the progress report for "killing hans gruber":

Levels: 5 % done. Bummer.

Textures: 100% done. DUDE!!!!!

VGAGRAPH: 100% done. SWAEEEETA

sound: 0 % done. Crud.

coding: just doing it as I go, adding coding as I think of
it, so I really have no measure as to how done it is.

sprites: 100(!!!) % done. WOOOPWOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Basically, for this tc, I am trying to be differant. That's the simplest
way to put it, I'm trying to be differant.

The gameplay, for once, is NOT allways about killing nazis.
in fact, one of the earliest levels in the game has not ONE
guard in it. Or sprites, for that matter.

I am using textured floors/ceilings, as well as colored ones.

Episode one is going to be the actual game, here's a list of
levels I've got planned out so far:

1) "There's something very familiar about all this"
Like the title says, very familiar.

2) "I hate getting my feet wet"
blood. Tons of it. really.

3) "I am the eggman?"
Psychadelic.

4) load up zone # 1

and there will, of course, be others.

the whole of episode 2 is a statement about the
overly commercialised games rushed out faster than light
because the game company wants to cash in on some craze,
or possibly the christmas rush.
its actually a mini game, in wich you play as a ninja.
I'm trying to actually put in some errors, and I'm gonna use the creator
program to make some really BAD levels for it......

I'm also trying to put into the main game a number of really
USELESS features, the most USELESS features I can think of.
Stuff like "Hard to play mode", and the special patent pending
mega annoying modified menu screen.

Some parts of the game are actually themed around
a social statement, wether this be against multinational
corporations, the bland all pervading disease of mainstream
pop culture, or the traditional cliched views of modern youth.
That last one is actually something I've been covering
in some of my IRL artwork recently, with a multimedia
called "Welcome to the future".... Laughing Laughing

All in all though, you shouldnt take it all too seriously,
as it's still supposed to be a fun tc.

Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble with editing my
vgagraph.......flo edit will no longer save anything....if
anyone knows any alternative way to edit vgagraph grphics,
I'd be very pleased. Embarassed Embarassed

With the music for the game, I'm going to try having
songs by the following bands:

Song Artist

"New York" Sex pistols

"Killing zone" Rancid

"World without melody" Bad religion

"I love my computer" Bad religion

"The Underdog" Yellowcard

"Cops on Hindley" the Jerks

"Road to recovery" Rufio

which is, if you ask me, a pretty cool soundtrack.....
as you may have realised, it's all punk.

another feature is "Alec Guiness Mode" in which, if you run
the game with the right paremeter, you have Alec Guiness
bjtalk...hows that for sarcasm?

Alternate VGAGRAPH graphics editor? Try WDC. It's a tasty morsel, most of the time. I know it works, because I used it today to edit my own VGAGRAPH.

Hmmmmmmm....Wdc....the version I have doesnt support vgagraph
editing (or so says the help file).

Is there actually a more recent version?
where can I get it?

Well, I've finally finished the Guy sebastion boss graphics,
and now I have to do Ronald Mcdonald and Google........

I've got the 2 new useless weapons coded in, and I've managed
to make them properly buggy!!!!!!!

I've woked out the bullet time level design, and I've gotten
the Alec guiness mode down.

I have 2 or three levels done, and My Psychadelic textures are finished.
Actually, I've already got around seven levels done, but not all
of them are imported into the game yet.......that includes
the Mcdonalalds level......everythings nearly finished!!!!! Cool Cool

I'm working also on the mini games...

The latest version may or may not have bugs in it if you try to import music/adlib sounds. Otherwise 'tis beautiful - in this version the VGAGRAPH can DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY be changed. Have fun! Wink

I've finally worked out some new mini games for the other episodes to be about:

Episode 3) Matrix scenes

Episode 4) Social statement against the emptiness of modern
over commercialised and overy rushed life.

Episode 4) Jet plane in Castle wolfenstein.

I have decided recently that Computer games can be as valid a form
of expressive art as film, painting, graphic art, or any other form
of media.

In view of this, expect to be vaguely surprised.

Okay, updating killing hans gruber again....
What've I got?

I'm planning for the levels right now.

My 2 newest level ideas are:

1) "I miss you" this is basically gonna be a level based around
the "I miss you" video clipby blink 182, so the song
will be playing, and you'll be able to see animated sprites
of the band!!!!!!

2) " Now u know where hamburgers come from"
This is where u go into a really weird Mc Donalds restaraunt...
This level is nearly finished. If anyone has seen the Boss pic
I posted on the Dome, The finished version of that boss will
appear in this level.

I'm still designing Episode 5, which is a series of Boss fights
based on scenes from the Matrix film series.

For episode 2, I'm still trying to work out how I can put bugs
in that will make the game crash....If anyone knows any
new bugs and Why they happen, that'd be good.

Oh, one more level:

"Curious George must die" which is where u get 2 kill this monkey.....

I just finished all the sprites of blink 182 yesterday,
trying to stay as close to the film clip as is possible within the confines of the
wolfenstein pallette etc.

I'm now just looking for a good pic of Bernard shaw to use for
one of my bosses.....I also need to fix up my Guy Sebastion boss, but everything
really is coming together.

Even my levels are nearly done. Considering the rate at which I make levels
that is a VERY big acheivement.

I also did a poster for the "Curious George must die" level......
I used some bits from Monkee's "Psycho Marvin" boss and put
them over a poster for "Romeo must die".

Okay, now I've finished flogging this deceased horse and boasting....

Well, I've finally found myself an artist 2 do guard graphics
for "Killing hans Gruber"....he MIGHT be able 2 do me a sonic instead of
the SS..... Laughing Laughing

His tc, "Fall of tails" was released just recently, And I can highly
reccommend it.....a good, fun tc. U play as tails. Cool Cool
