A Terminator Wolf3D TC; this would definitely be a good idea. Metal Gear could be cool too, but would require too many source changes to change the concept of the game. Metal Gear is mostly sneaking around and hiding from enemies, but Wolfenstein is designed around action; the two don't mix.

For the TC to work, you need to veer away from the plots of the films and perhaps create your own story. Probably the most viable plot idea would be in the future, after Skynet has taken over, and you play a reprogrammed T-800 unit. This is the Terminator we're talking about; having him fight against people isn't going to be much of a challenge for the player for it to be realistic.

Your first challenge is making the screen turn to a red pallette, and having numbers and graphs randomly appear, to create the POV effect as seen in the movies.

Hey! I did a T-800 as an example in my tutorial at the dome. Very Happy
I also did some walking animations for it.
I think I'll submit it to Magik's site, in case anyone wants to use it for the project.

Personally I think a Terminator TC is a good idea.
But you would have to be a human, not a robot. Because the "all-red" palette might look a little weird.

I've been sitting on the idea of doing a Terminator TC for a while now...I think I posted about a year ago that as one of the TC's I'd like to see...

I don't know what's kept me from working on one of these besides the mountain of other projects I already have before me. I don't want to commit to anything new. I do have the perfect design for an endoskeleton, though...the Dark Trooper Phase 1 from Dark Forces looks exactly like a Terminator endoskeleton...those would be a good enemy to have somewhere in the game, though it would depend on what the story was when it comes to how much it would get used. There are some good graphics in T2: The Arcade game on my SNES emulator I thought would work well, but if you want to do it all without borrowed graphics, well, that's another story... Too Cool

@Majik:

Ur Helicopter idea is'nt actually that hard to implement......
In fact, it WAS going to be in "Killing Hans Gruber" as
a sort of mini game.....I even got help from Kuki as
to how to code it in...a complete tutorial.

It makes the Motorbike move all the time ( my idea was for a jet plane),
enables you to shoot weapons, etc.

So if you ever want to try doing this, I'll send u the tutorial.
I agree that it would definately be an interesting idea!!!!!
Cool Cool

2 more ideas

Pitch black
A Wolf TC based off the movie Pitch black where you play Riddick (Vin Diesel) fighting mercenaries sent to take him to prison and attempting to survive the aliens. The color schemes for this TC would be trippy.

Mechwarrior
You are a battle mech pilot that is destroying other battle mechs on several planets.

Here's another idea for you guys,

D-day
This one would be about storming the beaches then proceeding inside hardened bunkers, similar to the first few levels of Medal of honor:Frontline.I think that this might be the best idea I've ever had.

I had thrown out a suggestion for a mod a little while back, but no one seemed interested, but now that the horror genre is getting popular I'll suggest it again.

The mod could be in all black and white, to give it an old horror movie feel, plus you could have a full greyscale palette that would have lots more shading options. You could make any colored environment, because there is no issue with color so you wouldn't have problems with shadows not matching the floor color. Entering into a house with from outside, and dealing with a green floor wouldn't be a problem either.

You could do the mod on some of the newer movies, like van helsing, or do it like hellboy but give it a flat shaded black and white comic feel. Or you could simply do mod of a combination of the old black and white monster movies. Your bosses would be Frankenstein's monster, the wolf man, the creature from the black lagoon, the mummy, the phantom of the opera, and of course dracula. The normal monsters would be things like zombies from the night of the living dead, rats, bats, ghosts, and other such monsters from swarm movies, with the new fog affect you could create really creepy looking environments like a foggy graveyard or even underwater levels.

Or you could go completely the other way and make a black and white pulp film that's like dick tracy where you shoot up mobsters.

Just some ideas. Cheesy Grin

Heh, that's a very cool idea ringman. Funnily enough, Super Blitzkrieg was originally going to be black and white, like an old war movie... But then I realised I liked colour too much, haha. Wink

Add a bit of creepy music, and some things that jump out at you... Could be excellent...

That would be a damn cool idea, out from the history and now into HORROR Too Cool

BW palette, this could be a good gimmick. You advance from BW, to CGA, to VGA through the levels.

Ripper's fog effect has some great potential for horror type mods. Increase the fog level so that you can only see a short distance, add some non shooting enemies (like the zombies in Halls of Stonehenge), and you just never know if an area is free from nasties or not. Or a level where the shading is set to maximum darkness and you have the same kind of thing.
