I wanted to know if any one had a tutorial on making Textured Menus. I suppose you could look at the SPEAR code but I want to direct from a tutorial, I'll use the H_CASTLEPIC for my menu background. I'm tired of one color.

I asked this because I can't seem to find this tutorial anywhere.
Thanks for help guys,
KyleRTCW

Tired of one colour eh? You could try something like this:

::: CODE :::
void ClearMScreen(void)
{
   int x;
   for (x=0;x<20;x++)
      VWB_Bar(0,(x*10),320,(x*10+10),(x%8+8));
}

DemolitionDerby's code is missing a few important steps, and isn't designed for H_CASTLEPIC. Razz

DemolitionDerby's code almost works.

In WL_MENU.C, just replace this line (the one in red)

::: CODE :::

void ClearMScreen(void)
{
#ifndef SPEAR
   VWB_Bar(0,0,320,200,BORDCOLOR);
#else
   VWB_DrawPic(0,0,C_BACKDROPPIC);
#endif
}

with this line:

::: CODE :::
CA_CacheScreen(H_CASTLEPIC);

It would have worked except that you should've changed the "#ifndef SPEAR" to "#ifdef SPEAR". Other than that, I didn't find any problems.

Did you want the box around the text in the menu to still appear? Or did you just want the text on the background picture (like in Doom, only without the animation Smile?
