I'm running windows 98. A very weird thing goes on with the soundblaster, sometimes the game will load and detect the sound card, sometimes it just won't and after it decides it won't work, it won't detect the card again unless I restart the computer, which sometimes doesn't even work. Any one experience this?

Yup, I have experienced it on Win 98. Press B, A, T to reset the implemented sound system.
