Here is the new EXE for those who experienced problems with level 11...

MCS had me testing it all day and we have checked it with My system, His, and Chris's (using DosBox)... and we haven't had any problems with this exe.

Download this only if you had problems.... This file will NOT read your previous saved games, and requires you to start over....

Once again, sorry for the problems it causes, but it can't be helped.

Yup. I only checked the exe to see if level 11 would work, which it does; but I can't really say if it works better or differently for any other level. You'd know better than me Greg. Since I know what the difference between each the exe is, though, the old version still fascinates me a little more from the internal perspective. I'm keeping both exes; in any case. Wink

Oh, and I didn't use Dosbox when testing this exe, but I would expect that level 11 should work fine with it too.

Thanks for posting that exe fix Greg - and thanks to MCS for putting it together quickly - finally I'm off these long nightshifts so I'll change the file available for download from the site so it has this latest exe.

Seems the Wolf community has been a big beta test for us Smile Apologies for the problem with level 11 - I guess after all the testing we'd decided all the bugs had been taken care of, but this goes to show how easy it can be for one to creep in!!!

Hi Steve.... Already been done...

MCS sent me the Exe yesterday morning and I started testing.... When I completed 10 and started 11, I sent both MCS and Chris my saved game files so they could check to make sure the fix worked on other systems and configurations. It was very late... about 6pm here (midnight there - MCS's time). He updated the Zip file as I was uploading this exe fix to the forums... Then it was off to bed for him as it was late. And I posted this thread (as per the conversation with MCS) so that everyone could access the update.

As a little experiment, I tried this new exe to see if it would fix the "switch to the gold key" problem on level 17, but alas... it does not. I've sent my saved games from both exe versions to Brothertank, and so far he's had no luck with the moving wall either; but he's going to keep playing around with the saved games to see if he can get it working.

I'm not sure which version Ariel, Barbara and Kyle were using, but it doesn't work on either version for me. Just wanted to confirm that, so that someone else doesn't have to play the whole game again with this new exe to find out.

I'm at level 17 with version 0.9. I saved at the exit elevator on level 16 so I can start 17 over again in a new slot. Am working on getting to the gold key switch with minimal saving/reloading to see if that might help. When I do reach the switch and could control my running (which I'm poor at) then I could flip the switch and get back out the doors in time to kill the SS guard in the gold door doorway. I'm not sure if the SS comes out when the door to the gold key switch is opened or when the switch is flipped. Anybody know?

I have started the version 1.0 game in the meantime on the second skill level just for practice. Great game regardless of this minor problem.

Actually, the wall moves sideways, not out, so the ss has nothing to do with blocking it.
Btw, there is a some kind of coded trigger in the space right next to the switch.
Try going up to the switch, but don't pull and the SS is still there.
Btw, I did manage to get the wall to mvoe yesterday for some reason :\

I wish I could download the new version! I'm starting to think I shall be stuck on level 11 forever... is there some problem? Maybe that guy in the sink has destroyed End of Destiny and you people are just too embarrassed to admit it. I'm right, I know it!!!!!

I think it doesn't work for me. Level 11 is like level 10. The music changes, but level 11 is the same as level 10.

I guess the idea of posting the fix anyway can work positively and negatively...

1. The game is still being updated, so that exe is sort of inaccurate for other things (bad)
2. It will make it easier for people who have the old exe to play level 11 (good)
3. People who don't have the original yet will get confused by it, or bug for the zip file (bad)
4. Some people already have this new exe (neutral)

Sounds like waiting for a new release is what they're after here, as to them... the bad points outweigh the good.

Hope that my problem with LV11 is 'solvable'... I won't play through those levels again (especially not the mirror, thingy)! Man, I got all the weapons and a backpack... Crying or Very sad

Why did this bug getted missed by the beta testers? They spent a fair while testing and they must have encountered level 11.
Maybe from now on more beta testers witha more diverse range of system requirements is needed for beta testing.

Just a thought

MCS answered this here. It was an exe change. "BETA" -> "FINAL." One letter caused it.

@ALL: Thread Locked.

The EXE was withdrawn by MCS and AReyeP as there were still a few bugs in it (namely level 17 yellow key and level 38 freeze). The game will be re-released when MCS and AReyeP have decided that the game is ready and is not producing the errors that everyone has posted.

@Possum Trot: Try posting in a thread about being stuck.. not in a thread about the exe.
