I was curious whether it would be possible to create objects that, after stepping on them, can no longer be stepped on? You wouldn't have to make the player die when they step, it would just have to be a trigger that would make sure they aren't able to return on that square anymore? I'm doubting if it would work, but I know you guys are smart and can find the answer better than I could.
For something like that Patrick, you might want to check the code snippet on "Level Ending Item"... When the player steps on it, it will activate whatever routine you want it to, and can also be removed.
To block anything from stepping on any square all you have to do is assign the actorat array with a 1.... ie: actorat[tilex,tiley]=1; where the tilex and tiley are the person/enemy stepping on it.
A while back someone wanted an "Alert" function... And it was at that time that I played with the code. You can define all kinds of objects (with or without a graphic) that can make the game do all kinds of crazy things. The only limit is either reality (making it real and fits within your game atmosphere) and your imagination.
Check into the Level Ending Item code... (Same as the Game Ending Code) and start from there.
