Spear of Destiny looks and plays just like Wolfenstein. The only differences between the two (apart from the obvious title screen changes etc, and the odd few minor details I forget to include) are:
Twenty one seamless levels - so that's like one giant episode.
Some new music and sound effects.
Brand new bosses.
A few extra wall graphics.
To demonstrate my points, check out the info on the back of the original box it was sold in. |

And of course the Spear of Destiny, the biggest surprise of the game! And it's copy protected. |

Don't forget also the Ammo Box, which gives you 25 bullets rather than just the 8 bullets provided by the Ammo Pouch. |

I've always felt that SoD, while classified as a sequel, is really just a mod. It lacks the 'new feel' that usually comes with sequels. It has a few added and changed things is all. Same goes for the Doom Series (Originals). |

Couldn't have said it better myself, Deathwish. I found Doom II far more entertaining than Doom I, however. I even decided to purchase Doom II even though I was never interested in getting the full version of Doom I. Playing Episode 3 of Doom I changed my mind, however. |

Is that so? I played Doom II before playing Doom I, and despite Doom II having the SSG, I found Doom I had a better level design that Doom II, actually doom II levels i found them VERY crappy.
Really? What did you find "crappy" about the Doom II levels? I'll admit that those paper-thin paths you had to walk through carefully could've used some items placed in the "intersections" (which in fact inspired some of my own scenarios you'll find in my Wolfenstein maps), but other than that ... |

Well, Doom II levels to me werent too much interesting, it was supposed to take place on Earth, but none of the levels seemed like earthly settings, but rather simplistic boxes one over the othery box-liked rooms. Also, the Dead Simple level, for example. It was just a (not very good) DM map that was used as a single player level, which was lazy, in my opinion. Doom I had more atmosphere I think. The UAC labs, the phobos areas, and the third chapter, were cool, very well designed. The fourth chapter I didnt like it as much. |
