I don't even have RTCW (lol), but you can easily record anything that comes out of your computer at perfect quality by just using the Sound Recorder program that comes with windows (which is probably in Accessories -> Entertainment or Multimedia on your Start Menu).

Just click on the "Volume Control" icon on the bottom right of Windows, and go into Options -> Properties, and switch to Recording. If all the boxes were checkmarked (recommended), you should have alot of bars available. Do a few test to figure out which one records what comes out of your speakers in Sound Recorder (probably called something like "Wave Out" or "Stereo Mix").

You might want to mute the Microphone option in Playback (if it's not muted already) if you get any fuzz. After that, just press Record in Sound Recorder and go through RTCW (preferably with the music off) and make a big hunk of noises in the game, than when you're done... stop recording, save the file; than load it, chopping before and after each sound you wanted; saving them all to separate wave files.

Might seem tough, but it's really not. I used to just use my microphone and record computer to computer; but this way is a little easier, and you can get alot better sounding samples (if that really matters in wolf3d - lol). As long as you can hear something out of your speakers, it's recordable. Wink

RTCW data files can be explored by WinRAR, you can also use it to extract sounds you need. It works perfectly with all Q3A-type engine games.

It's very easy! Open a PK3 file with a Zip extractor, like WinRAR, WinZIP, PowerArchiver or anyone else. Then, extract the sound (you can see the string "sounds/" in the "path" cell) in a folder you want. Reduce the sampling rate with a WAVE sound editor (not with Windows' sound recorder Sad ) and set the sampling rate to: 6.896Hz, 8bit, mono (I open a Wolf3D exported and replace the sound data with the sound I want to add... like cut&paste, but will keep the sampling rate of the Wolf3D sound). Finally, import the sound with a Wolf3D project manager like FloEdit, WDC or ChaosEdit.

Steps:
1. Open the PK3 archive with a ZIP extractor program, like WinZIP, WinRAR or PowerArchiver
2. Edit the sound with a good sound editor, setting the sampling rate to "6.896Hz; 8bit; Mono"
3. Import the sound with Wolf3D project manager, like FloEdit, WDC or ChaosEdit
4. Play the game with the new sound

They are in Wolf Skevos Jones's "Weapons of Vengeance". You may want to ask him how to extract them, because I couldn't figure it out. The sounds are about as good as your going to get.

Oh my god! I was to ignorant to look at the date. Sorry guys, don't yell at me. If a mod can set fire to this post, that would be great. Embarassed
