I have this title in ROM format on my PC, and I've been tempted in the past to Flo Edit Noah's face and weapons into Wolf3D just for the fun of watching an old fella with a slingshot take out Nazis...never did it, although I am using the color scheme and pallate from Noah 3D for my "Halls of Stonehenge" add on... Wink

Those of you unfamiliar with this cartridge will be surpised to know that this game doesn't even play by itself. It is a partial cartridge, sort of like a Game Genie, and needs to be plugged into another SNES cartridge in order to be used in your SNES. I know Wisdom Tree was known for it's odd "innovations" in it's game manufacturing, but this one is by far the most mind boggling...but what else can we expect from the only known unlicensed SNES cart? You'd think after shelling out all that dough to buy the Wolf3D engine, they'd at least get it licensed... Confused

@Brothertank

Do you know any place where I can download a shareware version of this? I have the full version but my friend wants to know where he can download a shareware version.

I use the cat character because I don't have a cat avatar. Sad
I'm a gal who likes cats and sometimes I color it to reflect my mood. BTW, you are the first to ask that question. Very Happy

Noah doesn't have a shareware... Sad It's a cartridge based game, so it requires that you have the ROM file for it, which in turn requires that you have the original game to download and keep the ROM...

Right and partially wrong... It is a PC game as well.... But right in that there is no shareware version of the game.

Woah, it's amazing how many sites are out there for this game (all of the having their own hilarious interpretations of it). Your review was excellent Majik, and kept me laughing and wanting to read more the whole way through. I've never played the SNES version, but it sounds like the engine is a whole lot suckier than for the PC (and I'm guessing that Brian's comment was directed towards the SNES version?). All the reviews and webpages are just so damn funny though - the way they describe all the inaccuracies of the cast and the environment, how they talk about their take on it's biblical and non-violent nature, questioning the ties Wisdom Tree had with ID and why they made the game in the first place. Very entertaining!

Like MCS mentioned, the doom-style automap was pretty cool (especially how it draws according to what you've seen). The first time I played the game, I actually threw a HMPK into the Config file with my hexeditor to get rid of the LShift bug, before even remembering that all you had to do was delete the file. I was skeptical about how small the Audiot file was at first, but it turned out there was enough songs to keep my ear-attention intact for awhile. There's a few times when the dots on the floor/ceiling textures would actually move around when you open the doors; pretty weird! Nothing as strange as the actual concept of the gameplay though, which can be alot of fun with all those crazy animals and brownish scenery... but wears thin in many departments for some reason; atleast for me - but is still cool to analyze from it's engine's perspective; and from it's rumours, impact on certain industies, and always thoughtful views from the public.

Just wanted to post that I really enjoyed reading all that was present in this thread today; and checking this game out one more time (thanks to an inspiration from Ariel about the Top 10 Charts, which followed a desire for TheTalentMrLeo to ask where this game can be found). This game is a nice place to go to when you're looking for a way to expand your outlooks on what kind of crazy things can come up from the origins of Wolfenstein; when you put a team of ambitious visionairies with some unique ideas together... Seems like the text for the MLI cheat isn't under "Demo Buffer Overflowed" in the EXE at all anymore; but bytes 104B3, 104BD, and 104C7 look like they go to an interesting combination of letters. Smile

I'll play around with it in more detail later, but for now; you can try just using the debugging codes (yup, there's definately debugging codes!). Goobers is replaced by "DEBUG", and the Tab key has been replaced by "~". Works pretty much like wolf3d (Tab in the intro screen still lets you play the Demo, LSHIFT-ALT-SPACE still activates the codes, etc.). Hope that helps!

I cannot believe this! You've just resurrected a five month - old thread to tell us that you have never played the game. You even ask what it is like, when the entire three pages of this thread tells you exactly that and a whole lot more.

What is the point???

If you're interested; I have finished Super 3D Noah's Ark, four years ago.

Actually, the text for the MLI cheat is right under "Demo Buffer Overflowed" in the EXE. But in Super 3D Noah's Ark it's not the MLI cheat anymore. They just changed one letter, but I'm not gonna tell you which letter they changed, yet. Laughing And half of the time I try this cheat, it crashes the game.

I've tried to find whether they left the BAT-cheat from Commander Keen still in the game, but I think they removed it, because I can't find it.

They did left in the music play screen and it's still activated by pressing M while the game loads.

It seems that they left in the parameters baby, easy, normal, hard and tedlevel, but I can't get them to work. I did get the parameters nofloors and noquestions to work and guess what they do. Smile
