I was wondering if the webmasters of the DieHard Wolfenstein Bunker and Areyep can send me all of the website files so I can upload them as a zip file to archive.org. Would this be OK? I do not mean the forum. The websites only. My email is jpb6891@yahoo.com.

As for archiving the site... No... The Wayback Machine Archive already archives sites on the web, and I believe we've been archived there already.

The layout of the site will be changing hopefully soon as well. A few small things need to be fixed and in doing that, I will be reworking the site and the different templates that it works from.

How different is it going to be? Will it still have the bad ass 90s site look?

Hahahaha..... Nothing too drastic. I've been toying with some ideas, but it's not going to be some high-tech out of this world type thing. This place is about the information, and not so much about the latest and greatest in web page design type of thing. Think of it like Wolfenstein 3d itself.... It's the concept, and everything behind this place as it always has been. While the game doesn't have all the features of the latest rendering engines, it gets the job done and is still quite enjoyable to play. In some ways, I enjoy it as much and sometimes even more so than the latest and the greatest.

My thinking is more a combination of the Bunker side of information, with the forums all combined in an easy to use and follow format. I've gone through about 4 different versions so far, but I'm still undecided on the format that I like the best. It's deciding what information needs to be shown where. And examplle of what I mean, is look at this thread... It shows for each post, the user name, rank, graphic rank, avatar, join date, and all kinds of buttons to do this. that, and the other.... To me it's a matter of removing the clutter and info that doesn't need to be there all the time, and present things in a clean, easy to read and follow format.

I hope that makes sense... I'm also looking to reduce the number of templates or simplify them in some way that we don't need 8 to 10 styles for different colour options.

Hey BT please take it easy Smile but my main concern would be more about the speed, this forum seems incredibly slow navigation wise.
For this design and the nowadays standards in term of costs and technology, I don't really understand why (very unoptimized code has been added on page load, or the hosting server is very bad)?

I haven't seen this forum navigate slower than any other forum with graphics. The only message boards (that I know of) who have it beat in the speed department have no graphics at all; it's all 100% text.

Okay... good to know. But strange it is doing me that from several computers and only for this site. Maybe due to my location in Europa? around 212 ms response time when I ping, this tends to say it is not because of the source of the page or the images at least.

That would be my first guess. It makes sense when you think about it; it's sure to take less time to access a North American server if you actually live in North America. Too Cool
