For an upcoming project that will use more or less the original graphics style, I'm wondering where the following wall tiles came from:

They were in my last dev build of The Final Assault from (I think) January 2004. I know I got them from somewhere else but I don't remember where and they fit in perfectly with the original texture set.

They probably come from Ken O'Brien's "Remake". The top uses (these are both guesses, mind) the softwood border coupled with the stained glass wall without the stained glass, and the bottom likewise uses softwood borders with the brick textures found on the wells.

I think they appeared in a wall pack from around the same era. I've still no idea when Remake was released.

Yeah, it's pretty fresh in my memory, that one... Played it a month or so ago and got into it big time. The edgier shapes of e.g. the gray stone texture could easily fit in a more fresh take on The Lost Episodes, in my opinion.

I've also seen the top wall (the one with, aside from softwood borders, concrete, I assume) in a number of other projects - I am certain it appeared in a wall pack, whereas I do not think the bottom one did. I know Chris used it in All This & Wolf 3D level 69 and I've seen it in sets that came out in the wake of wall packs (2003-05 mainly).

Did Ken O'Brien release anything between 2000 and 2003? Something inside me still believe that Remake was finished in the late 1990's or early 2000's but not either found or released (or both) until 2003. Something about it just oozes someone who has no idea that either Totengraeber, Spear Resurrection and their according mapping customs have appeared in their conscience yet. There were no releases to the best of my recollection in 2003 that looked remotely like this - old school even then. Nevertheless it's a thoroughly enjoyable (at times quite difficult too) set. Recommended.
