Thanks, guys
Maybe I'll make downloadable "art collection" of all those destruction animations for general Wolf3D modding use.
Maybe even to add SOD ones... |

How about the pots and pans. Or maybe make the big pan a pickup weapon. I always dreamed sneaking up on a Nazi bastard marching away with a big frying pan on hand. Bam! Thud! |

From my old Mapset:
@Thomas: love the idea of the pan being a weapon! Someone with better graphic skillz, get on it! |

A few more. I'd like to make it so the stove throws some flaming stuff that can hurt the player and enemies besides just exploding, but I have to learn some more before I'm able to do that I think.

Thanks guys, really it means a lot. If DoomJedi doesn't mind me using a few of his sprites, between the two of us and whatever else we can find, objects in this mod should fall apart with style
And as DJ mentioned, they will be here and can even be a collected resource for future modders.
I actually came here to post this. Was messing with finding good floors and ceilings for E1M10, and somehow accidentally did this with the walls... if it wasn't so non-canonical I'd keep it XD

Making the old gray concrete from Spear purple... Great stuff, man. The exploding stove and the broken lamp though - wonderful as well. |

Thanks guys. Getting that thing to animate without looking weird was tough, might still look weird.
And yeah for the floors and ceiling I'm trying to imagine what those textures most likely would have been. Almost definitely something rough (WolfenDoom had a good-looking concrete texture, gave the ceiling a very heavy, solid feel), and maybe something to compliment the cave-like, catacomb-like, dank tunnel feel of the original. I remember as a kid being genuinely afraid of that level lol. I think it was the low-blow SS in that first room, mostly
I like how it looks so far but I'm more than welcome to suggestions, can always improve. |

Could be cool adding a bed which had money stuck inside the linen, giving extra treasure score... lol... |

I guess you could do stuff like that with cages as well - hanging cages with keys or treasures in them, stuff like that. Vases with chalaces in them. Lots of possibilities. |

Wow DoomJedi, you aren't kidding XD I actually struggled with how to begin to darken the lamp. Wasn't sure what shape the shade was supposed to be lol, seems like just a blob. I might actually replace mine with yours, definitely an improvement.
And this bed! My idea for the bed was so similar, actually plan on trying a slow pillow feathers falling animation haha.
Thomas, that is 100% doable having some treasure or cash fall out. In Zdoom decorate, you can easily program 'killed' sprites to drop whatever you want. So far I have barrels that do this, but honestly, like ronwolf suggested, I might have chalices drop from destroyed vases sometimes. Eventually treasure is going to count for something. |
