Attention Wolfers again!

Now departed again but this time for a longer period. Again, things are starting here wrong to be. In private better explain why.

Thanks:Officer-Michael John

Michael, honestly, if you're going to leave, then you probably should just leave. You don't need to tell the entire forum of your decision again.

It was a lie anyway. He posted two more questions 4 hours after that:

Today I mentioned last time. From tomorrow I will not be mentioned. Right after this announcement, the two wrote that the question still applies today before I go again. That's for you, Chris Chokan?

Those who privately questioned why I go out to those described and waited for the end.

For those frustrated with the questions that Officer posts on Code Crackers, I won't criticize anyone if they don't provide help for him. It does require a great deal of time and patience before you get the information you need. Just keep in mind that if you don't break things down into a simple form with every post, things will probably get lost in translation - both literally and figuratively. Smile

It's very simple: apply the rules of this forum to your posting. We've already given you some leeway, just giving some warnings and locking a topic here and there. Not really strict at all. But if you keep up the excessive topic creations, generating annoyance amongst your fellow Wolfers, than you really can't expect us moderators to do anything else but intervene. It's really simple:

1. Try to keep the amount of created topics to a minimum: often I see you announcing mods/sdl translations with a feature list, after which each bullet point in your feature list becomes a seperate topic in the SDL Code Crackers subforum. Giving off a distinct vibe of letting other do the work for you, while you copy/paste their code. Use the search button, attempt to do it yourself.. and maybe try to keep it all in one thread, 'The O-M John needs help with coding'-thread or whatever.
2. Not to be condescending, but please try to find a way to improve your English. One of the basics of this forum is comprehensible English, because you cannot expect others to put in a lot of effort just to 'sort of' understand what you're saying. It would make communicating on this forum so much easier.
3. Learn how to handle criticism. You can't just announce your leave of this forum everytime someone calls you out. Try to apply what I'm saying, because it does not come from a place of rancor or anger... as a moderator, I want the DHW forum to be an inclusive forum for all Wolf3D fans. That's why, if I detect annoyance amongst the other Wolfers, I try to solve the problem instead of aggravating it. And most of us are understanding is your English isn't exactly the best or if you're not the best coder (I know all about that myself Mr Green), but to a certain limit. So to improve that, you will have to put in some effort yourself as well. That's all.

You have to do your part to make things better for yourself.

If you want help with something, please stop being so vague. Provide details. To say "it doesn't work" doesn't tell us anything. Tell us what is happening. If you're getting errors, please tell us what the errors are. And tell us what the errors are pointing to.

If you want something to work a particular way, please fully explain what it should do. If it runs, but it doesn't work right, tell us what it's doing, and what you want it to do.

Thank you.

I haven't said anything about this, but Officer-Michael John is the most annoying person I've ever encountered on the Internet. I've found it so irritating how he has been flooding these forums with hundreds of topics asking how to do things no one cares about. And his messages look like they have been machine-translated. I haven't said anything about it, because I'm nice. Smile

The worst part about is that he apparently either can't or won't (assuming the latter) learn from his mistakes or acknowledge any of this. He is still around over on the Haven forum, with very little change in his behavior.

Apparently Michael-John has caught wind of this: http://wolf3d.darkbb.com/t3436-storytelling-about-me#29086 and explains his shortcomings on his apparent autism. I can follow that to a degree as I'm on the spectrum myself. A lot of us are. Richter Belmont too. We all started out very defensively, sometimes not writing coherently and such... But we've moved on. I sincerely hope Michael-John has it in him to move on as well. The language barrier certainly doesn't help. I've never quite clearly figured out whether or not he understands English but cannot put it together himself, or has as little understanding for the language (as in, when we respond to his posts) as is evident by his posts. Being of non-English language origin myself there is indeed a struggle in learning the fluidity of the language, at least early on in the process. But these days English is all over the place. At least when you're using a computer.

I've been in Officer-Michael John's Shoe as well when I first joined here. Sure it wasn't easy having Asperger (its another form of Autism). But over the time I've been here I've been learned quite a bit from my mistake and misscoming, sure the internet is full with assholes and jerks but that is what the internet is to be honest, I haven't been taking criticism well when i first joined here but I did Move on and it makes me sad to see people with autism in anyway get treated with disrespect, rude and tons of criticism but its also a learning experience even for myself when working on mods or trying to get help.

Here is what I think about. "No one is this world is perfect, there is no definition of a perfect person, your perfect the way you are and you should be proud of it!"

Agree 100 % ... The thing about the internet is, you have no knowledge of the person typing the words you read. You are simply just a barrage of letters in a visualized box of text, and not really a person with good days and bad days, good ideas and bad ideas etc... Had I known of Michael-John's autism I think I could see a pattern, but there is still a way to get around and get better with your stubbornness and the whole built-in thing most of us have with not wanting to listen to anyone teach us anything. Such is life... You need to be able to open up and listen at some point. Unless you live in a bubble of course, and those closest to you manage to go about their days without having to face the actual problem.

A major issue is that he seems to have a problem with his memory that he's not aware of. He'll progress for a day or two, and then it seems as though his mind is suddenly wiped clean. If you follow his posts in chronological order, his content makes a lot more sense if you test out this theory.
