Has anybody ever had issues with WDC dumping "junk" into maps?

I've had quite a few problems with MapEdit in DOSBox and WDC is the only modern map editor I've found that is as functional, but I can't use it if I can't trust it with my maps. Anybody else have this issue?

I haven't had this problem, but I also haven't used WDC for map editing much (I use ChaosEdit normally).

Looking at the WDC thread, I think its the bug where when you click dialogue boxes, sometimes it will make modifications to the map behind it. Not certain, but this seems kind of like what is happening. ChaosEdit won't work for me because there is no zoom feature.

I am giving Havoc's Editor a try. I like the interface pretty well. Can't figure out how to get statistics for individual items though and that is kind of a must-have feature. I am sure it is there and I'm just overlooking it.

Ah, right; that is probably the main issue I have with ChaosEdit. As far as HWE goes, it looks like the only statistics thing is the Map Information dialog. Mind you, I don't think ChaosEdit has statistics for individual items either.

Sorry that's happening. You can always undo whatever happens. I realize that's a workaround and not a fix, but I haven't touched the WDC code in a long time.

If the problem is as you say, it's probably because Windows is sending the mouse down event to the dialog, closing it, and then the map editor receives the mouse up event and does something. That doesn't sound like a particularly easy fix. I will try to look into it sometime, but I have a lot of things on my plate for several months.
