Wolfenstein 3D begins playing at 4:05. Do the two guns in this section seem fine to you people or is SDL coding needed? Ignore the echo that you hear at the end. I had the live stream playing in Windows 7.

I'm not sure how coding it in SDL would affect how the guns would work.

Doesn't Wolf4SDL have sound length code in the source?

No (and in fact very few games do), but from the sound of that, did you replace the chaingun firing sound with Hans's firing sound? The way the weapon code works is that the sound will be played each firing frame, and it uses the same channel as a previous firing sound. As a result, the weapon sounds need to be short and with no delay at their start to sound correct; Hans's firing sound fills neither criteria. This is the way it worked in DOS as well.

Yes, the weapons sounds uses Hans's chainguns sounds.

I might need to check the chaingun sounds from the final solution game and see how that compares to mine.

Edit

The final solution appears to use the original sounds.

That sounds right to me in the video, or how Hans chaingun should sound anyway. You should probably cut out the parts of your videos where nothing is happening though (like the first 4 minutes and the last 1 minute here) with Youtube's built-in Editor.

Thanks Chris for the suggestion. I will do that for the next Wolfenstein 3D live videos. The original will still be available, but a cut version will also be available for SDL questions and to be user friendly so viewers can easily watch it.
