Secret levels was always veeery boring to me, so I've got an interesting idea to give secret levels a new taste. I think that it's easy to do, without specially hard coding tricks!

On standard secret level you are beginning in the small room or hallway and then just charging through irritating maze, collecting treasures and sometimes killing guards. Really boring. Only secret level that I enjoyed was a Pacman level from original wolfenstein...

OK, here's the idea: secret levels in this "mode" should be easy to go through and with few places to hide. There will be ... only one enemy! Only one, extremely quick enemy. But he's weak, 10-15 shots will kill him. The only way to win that level is to get that freak and fire at him to the death! But to make the game more interesting "bunny" (let's name his bunny Razz ) is teleporting to the previously selected places on the level (2-3 points on the map) instead of atacking you! Ha! The best way to eliminate bunny is to find him and kill in stealth way. To make that even more funny, the bunny will making sounds when moving (something like hitler in armor), so player can use the stealth way and just attack him from surprise!

Of course, on the next levels there will be two bunnys. Then three, four, five...

Good idea, I think! It will be great feature to add in "Empire of Chaos". Hunt for the king's comedian through the castle's courtyard, that's what I'm thinking about! Laughing Laughing

Feel free to use it, if you want, but remember about small place in credits Razz ...

i really like this idea actually man! Makes me look foward to playing EOC.

What do you mean by comedian though? mistranslation?

Heh, used translator, but didn't know what word is correct (low comedian, clown, etc.) .

BTW, does someone used this yet? Maybe I'll change it a little to make more original. Oh, and I think that funky music in background will be great on the "bunny hunt" level Laughing ! Maybe that from "benny hill show" ...

Hey, one more idea!

Ok, here's my next impressive ieda. Maybe not very interesting, but I think that it should make EOC even better!

Erhm... in this "fantasy realm" (heh, story haven't been finnished and not decided yet how the realm will be named) there are lots of strange creatures... orcs, elves, dragons and... giants. Yep there are giants - they are huge (really huge) and always hungry. So they are often hunting on humans, horses, wild animals and goblins to eat them. Heh, so imagine what happens when player meets giant Shocked ...

It can be secret level (or not) too, but it have to be made in special way. Something like motor driving levels, but with other perspective (same as in car drving level in Northern Darkness... umm, dont remember the title of the game, correct me if bad).

Instead of vehichle you are operating the Fheruzill (http://img238.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=28859_mk1_122_359lo.JPG). There is only one (like in previously presented idea) enemy. But now it's a giant! You are presented by a small sprite showing only the Fheruzill's back. But giants looks like a standard boss. You can't attack him! The only way to end the level is to run to exit. If giant catches you, you are lost (he's smashing you with one shot, using huge mace). He's weakness is a slow moving... yeah, he's moving like a SS or guard from original wolfenstein. The end of the level will be presented by a enter to the cave, where giant can't catch you.

Heh... and later there will be two giants, then three...

I think about two "giant run" levels in each episode.

What you think about it?

Heh, your first idea sounds like an enemy from Descent II - the thief bot:

"Descent II made major improvements in AI, with robots being able to do hit-and-run attacks or roaming through the level, such as the ITD "Eagle Bot" and ITSC. Most infamous was the Bandit or Thief-Bot which was a fast-moving and hard-to-kill enemy that attempted to steal the player's weapons and equipment; the similar E-Bandit will drain the player's energy and shields."

Oh, I've got ideas, but I'm saving most of them for Adenovirus. Smile I might throw a couple of surprises into the engine just for fun.

Yeah, I understand you, guys. The bad thing is to show player all the features that are apearing in the game.
