Y'know, it really amazes me that after all this time, there still hasn't ever been a Resident Evil project released in the Wolfenstein format. I guess the reason I find this so amazing is because there are so many popular games or movies that have had TC's made after them, and the Resident Evil series seems like it lends itself pretty well to the whole TC idea. I know there's been one listed for quite a while as "up and coming" at the Dome, but there are a lot of projects that make that list that folks have never followed up on. Anyway, I know the concept has been used in some TC's already (ie limited ammo vs monsters and zombies), but I still think it would be cool to have a project made that was actually part of the RE series...let's face it...even though there's plot and character development in the real RE games, it's never really that extensive, and you could still pull off a decent RE game with just the survival aspect.

I was going to try to make such a TC a while back myself, but it wasn't realistic for me to try to do that with all the other projects I'm still working on...I did whip up a "Nemesis" I wanted to use for the project, but it never saw the light of day. I may be putting it up on the Image World sometime soon, though. There's a link to a GIF of it below, but I don't know if you'll be able to see it or not...it's hosted by (blech) Angelfire... Thanks...I noticed that if you do like Adam said and paste the link directly, it seems to work that way also...but thanks for uploading it...that makes it much easier. That character actually represents a full set of frames (designed to replace Otto Giftmacher), but they're not all in the GIF...

You know,I've been thinking about making a RE conversion,but I've been busy with The Secret Missions and other stuff so I'm not able to make it.I'll try to make one sometime though.

I have tried to make a RE. TC before, and, yeah!

Sure...that wouldn't be too difficult. It would take me a day or two to do each of them probably (when I had the time), but I believe it could be done...I also thought about doing William Birken variations before as bosses, but never got around to it. The reason I chose Nemesis initially over Mr X, who is also very cool, is because Nemesis has a real projectile weapon, the rocket launcher. Not to say that's ever stopped me from making an enemy before. I would love to do a full set of RE type enemies some time when I'm not working on a project...I usually do most of my enemy designing to pass the time between projects... Cheesy Grin

oh yeah! william birkin! hes that scientist guy that tseted the g-virus on himself, yeah?!

well, it would look realy cool if you did a sprite of one of the william birkin geotype guys!
like those mutant things, for example-when you climb down a ladder on RE2, and the a movie clip comes up with one of them, then i breaks off a pole from the, uum, thing, and tries to whack you on the head! that would be cool...

if you dont know what i am talking about, then, dont worry...

I know just what you mean! Don't think less of me, but I used to play the original Resident Evil Trilogy (RE1, RE2, and Nemesis) daily and without fail...with a healthy dose of Hunk, Tofu, and Mercenary mini games in between. I used to live RE and survival horror games before I returned to Wolfenstein...the scene you're speaking of occurs if you play the second scenario as Leon right after the Chief gets ripped in half...ah, yes...I know that which you speak of...Laughing

It all depends. I've sworn off even thinking about announcing or planning any new projects until I finish what I've already got on my plate. The projects I've announced and am working on is just the tip of what I actually work on...for every project I do myself, I think I do graphic requests for about a dozen others, which is just fine with me.

In answer to your question, I'd love to see a RE TC made, and I'd love to do some of the graphics, but I have no idea whether or not I'll have the time any time soon to actually do any of them. Only time will tell... Wink

I seriously could not think of a worse game to make a TC of.
Though to be fair, I think my idea of Resident Evil took a nosedive the other day when I saw the movie of Resident Evil for the first time (and last time!). I would love to know if anyone actually knows the meaning behind that waste of space? The movie, I mean.

The meaning was $$$MONEY$$$...but trust me (I know you still may not), but if I were to make a RE based game, I wouldn't release it unless it truly played and felt similar to the RE experience. Otherwise, I'd keep it to myself. Next to FF RPG's, RE is one of my all time favorite series (Star Wars is my over all favorite, and I've cancelled all plans for SW TC's because there's no way to do the series true justice with this engine). I would be the last one to suck up the series by making a crappy mod of it...whatever it would be, though, I guarantee it would be better than the Game Boy Color Resident Evil game that came out a while back... Sick

I lay awake last night thinking about how a
Rogue squadron tc would go.....
Actually, I think it'd be a fun challenge!

I mean, it's perfectly possible to have your
character allways moving, just like an X-wing....
And level design would be fun, too.

Not that I'm actually going to do this myself
at the present point in time (The Punisher, Gotterdammerung,
Rising threat, Max Paynestein, and Raistlinstein
all have yet to actually be completed LOL),
but I think that it might actually shape up into
a very enjoyable tc.....

Yeah...I had similar ideas for other flying vehicle type TC's using the walls as buildings...but I, too, have a boatload of projects to finish and art to complete for other people's projects...I don't want to think of any really cool ideas at the moment...I might actually start working on a new one...Laughing

Actually, a while back I was playing around with different themes for the "3D Maze" screensaver that comes with newer versions of Windows...I put in some Death Star floor and wall textures with the ceiling as stars (with a tie fighter)...it actually looked very cool! That was the first time I entertained the idea of a "flying" mod, but then I thought of the fact that Wolfenstein is all about taking cover to save your butt, and that's not really an element of most flying type games I know of...
