Subject: A new bonus system

After playing Duke Nukem II for a while, I took special interest in its bonus system, where there are several different bonuses you can get on completion on a level, and you have to do a certain thing to get each one (especially when I got a whole bunch of them at the end of episode 1, level 1, and started level 2 with >600,000 points!). So here's my proposed bonus system for Wolfenstein that is based on the systems in Duke II and Rise of the Triad:
END OF LEVEL BONUSES
Rambo Bonus 1--Kill all normal enemies: 10,000 pts
Wallrider Bonus: Find all secrets: 10,000 pts
Greed Bonus: Find all treasure: 10,000 pts
Rambo Bonus 2--Kill all Super Guards (for add-ons like Projekt: Eisenritter where there's a "mini-boss" enemy in every other room): 20,000 pts
Curiosity Bonus--Hit every switch, door, pushwall, anything that you can interact with: 5,000 pts
Swiss Cheese Bonus--Get shot at least 30 times: 15,000 pts
Hemorrhage Bonus--Collect all health items: 10,000 pts
Spray and Pray Bonus--Collect all weapons and ammo: 10,000 pts
Bonus Bonus--Get all available bonuses: 100,000 pts
END OF EPISODE/GAME BONUSES
Ultimate Rambo Bonus 1--Kill all normal enemies: 100,000 pts
Ultimate Wallrider Bonus--Find all secrets: 100,000 pts
Ultimate Greed Bonus--Find all treasure: 100,000 pts
Ultimate Rambo Bonus 2--Kill all Super Guards: 200,000 pts
Ultimate Curiosity Bonus--Hit every switch, door, pushwall, etc.: 50,000 pts
Ultimate Swiss Cheese Bonus--Get the Swiss Cheese Bonus at least 4 times: 150,000 pts
Ultimate Hemorrhage Bonus--Collect all health items: 10,000 pts
Ultimate Spray and Pray Bonus--Collect all weapons and ammo: 100,000 pts
Ultimate Bonus Bonus--Get all Ultimate Bonuses: 5,000,000 pts |

Mmmmm.... Yeah! Nice idea. I like the idea of having different bonuses for different "OBJECTIVES", if you'd call it that. As Merthsoft said: "Neat idea".

Another really "neat", idea would be "RAMPAGE", or something. When you kill a certain amount of enemies in a certain amount of time, then it would go up in enemies and quicker time and stuff. That would be hard to code, but cool none the less!! Good luck Sir!

First, you would have to think about what to do with the Intermission Screen; how it should look.
A cool bonus would be "Silent Assassin" fro using only silent weapons (Sten, knife, etc.).
You would alos have to make new counts "int" and things like that. I'm no coder so I can't really help with anything but ideas. |
