I'm not talking about a new wolf mod. I mean new wolf the source port. Has anyone considered making, or made a mod for this port? The upgrades allow you to use full color high res textures and sprites. You could make a rtcw mod with it, that's in the spirit of the original wolf. It even allows the use of 3d models. Anyone done it yet?

I've often wondered why noone has ever made a mod for NewWolf, as it's an awesome port. I can't play it a lot of the time because I'm still in the Stone-Age computing wise for most of my PCs (my main PC is on the fritz, and my other PC is usually reserved for business / work purposes). Still, someone should play around with it, I think, as even just a new set of levels would be cool (and backwards compatible with the original Wolf3D). And if you got into making new graphics, as you said, it would look awesome to boot.

I'm sure everyone would love to mod off of NewWolf, but the main problem it that not everyone in the wolf community knows how to edit/make 3d models (objects, sprites, walls etc...) and also the code, the newwolf source code is like completely different form the regular code. And besides, it's still a little buggy.

Yeah, that's true Kyle about the bugs. It's too bad DarkOne doesn't have some more coders to really help him out with some of those bugs. That stuff is WAY too advanced for me, but I'm sure a few people here could maybe figure things out. The more heads a beast has, the better...

Also, someone to help with documenting the engine would be very helpful because, as you stated, the NewWolf engine is much more technical than the original engine. I'd love to see some of the cool new things people could do with a slightly more advanced system.

For some reason that port, has lines around all the objects, that i cant seem to get rid of, the same with wolfgl aswell, I know that my graphics card is compatible with open GL, I just don't know how to get the lines to go away lol, but yeah the port is good, the way it has sound and music (for those who downloaded it) maybe MP3 system would be better, and blood trails. If only i could code Razz

Don't worry, I get them as well. They are the result of the amateurish models. I don't quite know why they appear, but rest assured there is nothing wrong with your graphics card.

I get the same results with any models sets I hook up to JDoom. Evil or Very Mad
