Here's a little idea I came up with yesterday. Why not create a thread in which people can share their IMFs with everybody? It'd be great for people who want to make a mod, but can't find any good music, or create an IMF of a song they're looking for. I myself have a 3 megabyte collection of IMFs that I just listen to sometimes, most of which I'd be glad to upload and share. (I say most because some of them are the works of people from here. I got 'em in a zip that Chris linked somewhere.)
So what do you say? Is this a good idea? If it is, I'll get started uploading my IMFs. |

Sure, that'd be a good idea... I don't see any reason why not.
I'd be interested to hear what kinds of music other people have come up with. In the future, I might even contribute some of my own IMF music here... though I'm not promising anything, because a lot of what I've written isn't that great. |

I've saw that you have composed the musics of COTS. When I have heard that, I have remembered of the musics of Operation Heimzahlung. You are talented in make musics to PC.
I must say:that musics give an new feeling to your games. |

Here's my first batch of IMFs. And hey, if you have some, but need hosting, I'll be glad to stick them here. AIM me at TheRealZXD, or ask me for my e-mail via PM.
1942 - Conquest of Paradise (Might suffer from this weird bug where some instruments stall out.)
1942 NES(?) (Stalls out in the last 4 seconds.)
1943 - Level 1
American Patrol
American Patrol (faster)
Megaman X - Sigma's Rage (Instruments gradually stall out, still sounds decent.)

Megaman 2 - Air Man (Remix)
Adventures of Dr. Franken - Haunted House
Adventures of Dr. Franken - Moonlight Sonata
Rise of the Triad - Chant (Ends before it should, still sounds okay.)

Quake 2 - Complex 13
Quake 2 - Crash Site
Castlevania 4 - Simon's Theme
DooM 2 - American Pie
DooM 2 - Dead 2
DooM 2 - Evil Incarnate (I realize it was in SoD, but this version is orchestrated differently)
DooM 2 - Read Me!

Rise of the Triad - How'd I Do?

Blake Stone - Jungle (I know, Blake Stone's music was already in IMF format... but this is a reorchestration.)
Rise of the Triad - Kiss Off
Kunio tachi no Banka - Amusement Park Battle
Fiddler on the Roof - L'Chaim (It's not really that great. If anyone could get a better version, I'd appreciate it.)
Level 2D (Uh, what the hell is this from? I can't seem to even find the MIDI on my computer...)
Dave Warhol - Maniac Mansion
Rise of the Triad - Medieval
L?2 - Nazi Scum (This is from some game... or anime... or something. Starts with an L, I think...)
Rise of the Triad - Mistache
Rise of the Triad - Mmmenu
John Phillip Sousa - The Liberty Bell March (Was it by Sousa? I forget. Also known as the Monty Python's Flying Circus theme.)
EarthBound - Twoson
EarthBound - Name Your Characters
Rise of the Triad - OWW! (All of it's good except the main part, which is totally out of tune. Again, if someone might get a hold of a better version...)
EarthBound - Paula's Theme #2
Dave Warhol - Sid and Razor's Piano Tune (C64 Version)
The Naked Gun - Police Squad! (This is the right movie, correct?)
r3mix - r3mix (If this is an actual song, feel free to give me the correct name. It just came with a DN3D user level.)
Rise of the Triad - Radagio
Red3 - Red3 (See r3mix.)
Red4 - Red4 (Ditto.)
Red Army (This is probably a real song, too.)
Rise of the Triad - Run Like Smeg! (Had to remove a lot of instruments to stop it from truncating...)

FF6 - Zozo (Remix)
That's it, all of them I have at this point. (That I'm obliged to release.)

Thanks for this list Zero X. The music is very important for a good mod.
Infortunately, many of these musics are not very adapted to the spirit of Wolfenstein. Maybe to mods like Chokage. That would be fun to kill some Nazis on "American Patrol (faster)".
However, I founded some good things.
Tell me, you can convert and uploaded all the musics from Doom I ? Because I seek goods IMF. I have some ones of them, to found from many mods, but not all. |

Loki: Yeah, a lot of them aren't quite Wolf3D spirited, and I know this well. Tons of them are just IMFed either to see if I could, or because I like listening to them. As for DooM, well, I can try, but I can't promise I can get everything to sound okay.
JackaL: Yes, you can use these in your TC. That's why I started this thread, so people would have a quick and easy archive of IMF music. Every IMF I upload here will be public domain, so take any of it you like. If I can get my hands on some more MIDIs, I'll make some more.\
I'm glad to see people are actually looking into this now! |

I have some reservations about posting my IMFs to the public, as alot of them need improvement, but here's some silly rare stuff that I probably won't update; that you can play, or use for whatever you like...
THEWRATH.IMF - The first IMF I ever made, one of the songs I did for a demo of Verdammt (a dark area with flaming torches, as you enter a building). It slides through 3 different sections. The second part sounds kinda weird on my computer now. One thing I find cool is how it plays a certain sound effect only after the song is repeated; weird.
ODDWOODS.IMF - An "odd" version of a lost track from EoD. Mostly did this version for fun, which obviously didn't make it into the release, as the leads sound pretty strange. Took around 15 hours to work out the volume/sound issues to that point; but it was alot of fun to play around with. The original midi (which rocks!) can be found here.
CHOKIMF1.ZIP - Couldn't believe that this 'thing' still exists on my hard drive. It's the first Audiot file I ever tried to make, just throwing a bunch of old/short originals from my website together in IMFTOOLS to see how they would sound. I'll post it for fun, but be warned... it's quite a crappy and strange set - lol. Dates back to April 2001.
By the way, I love listening to all the songs you've posted Zero. That's quite a collection of musical masterpieces! Alot of them sound surprisingly good and error-free in IMF format. Even where there are noises that stick out, I find it interesting to see how those beepedy sounds work together. Way too many cool tracks on your list to name, alot of really catchy and powerful stuff in there! I can actually just listen to the whole thing on random in Darkone's Winamp IMF player all day; they're that cool. |

Thanks, Chris. Glad to see someone else other than me listens to IMF music. I don't feel like such a nerd now! Anyways, on this subject, I've got a ton more, including some that I guarantee won't be found anywhere else. I've got school tomorrow, though, so I have to shower and get to bed. Be prepared, however.
Oh, and Loki, a lot of DooM songs don't want to convert properly. I personally lay the blame with the Distortion Guitar tracks. Just about every DooM song that had DG tracks in it puked really bad when it came to them. I did convert most of Episode 1, though, so look forward to that tomorrow. |

DooM 2 - Evil Incarnate (I realize it was in SoD, but this version is orchestrated differently)
No it is not. The midi is exactly like the original IMF. Converting the midi version just screws in up. |

Were you using IMFCreator or IMFTools? I'm going to post an update to IMFCreator tomorrow (in about 10 hours) that fixes a problem with tracks getting locked and fading away and such due to pitch bend MIDI events (such as in E1M1). Plus pitch bend support will be added.
I've actually tried both, neither works, though IMFCreator admittedly much better. As for fixing the pitch bending, holy freaking crap, I can't wait. I have this awesome song I had to convert badly with IMFTools, which had Distortion Guitars, assumedly because of pitch bend. (Pitch bend is what causes the DGs to lock up, am I right?) Anyways, seriously Adam, keep up the good work on the IMF front.

By orchestrated differently, I didn't mean note-wise, I mean sound-wise. Sorry for any confusion. If the words "orchestrated differently" appeared anywhere in my list, it probably means it sounds different.

Eh, fine, but if I do, I'm still keeping all of them available seperately, for those among us who are looking for specific pieces.
Anyways, I'm about to start the major upload, so get ready to see a big list here soon. |

Heh, just got it, and it DID convert several things that biffed earlier without error. However, even though the music piece I've got doesn't lock up anymore, it's still a bit funny. Since you made IMFCreator, I assume you're a wiz with it. Maybe you could take a shot at it?
