I know Majik made a post elsewhere about this, but for those who are not watching the regular news string, I have finished "Operation: Mutant Strike". I have sent it to Brian, but if you would like to download it before it is on the Dome, copy the link below and paste it into a browser window to download. I would like to know what you think of it since it is only my second project ever, and I didn't do most of Hunscheisse.

* shock me out of black hole * That's very good TC, played at first and second levels, there is one of few bosses look like it comes from BS or something like that.
I will judge it after I finish my homework (ATS gave me more homework ) and will add them to TC's 25 top listing later.. I always worry about all TCs on listing will be in big surprise if EOD beats all of them. |

Dum omitted a couple of small things in the manual that I'll mention here...
Possible Glitches
- the occasional crash of the game, caused by too many projectiles released by "hitler ghost" replacements. The best way to avoid this is to get rid of them before they spawn too many projectiles. This didn't happen very often when I was testing, but can occur on rare occasion when there is a lot of distance between you and the enemy spewing the projectiles, allowing more to be fired before the initial ones have hit a wall and vanished.
- sometimes with the animated sprites, some of them won't be animated. It's just because of the way they were done for the game, based over Pac Man ghosts, and there's nothing wrong with your PC. There was no rhyme or reason to which ones did this when when we were testing, but it won't affect gameplay.
Additional Kredits
- To CANONIR1 (I believe it was him) who sent me a modified machinegun pickup that I gave to Dum to use in the project. Thanks for the contribution!
I think that's it! Glad you guys are liking it so far! I've really enjoyed it myself...good work, Dum! |

Thanks, CANONIR1, but I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it...it's hard to comment on the game I guess without mentioning some of the enemies...but you are indeed correct, Howling Wolf...there are quite a few mini bosses in the game...only three enemies considered to be real bosses are at the very end... |

heheh. Glad you like the "surprise" mutants. I thought it worked pretty good. An award would be nice, but it's a little too early in the month to think of that. There have been some good sets released already like Paderborn by Lakota Bucksnort was very good (and also about a lot of mutants). I know sometimes Brian gives multiple awards if there are several good sets, but only time will tell how good this one is. Thanks for the feedback so far, and feel free to keep it coming! I'm pleased so far, even more than with Hundscheisse. |

I sent the update to Brian (thanks, Adam). If anyone is having trouble with the "hitler ghost" enemies crashing your game, the updated exe should fix it. However, if you're past level 5 (which is really the only place I've seen it happen) without incident, I'd hold off on downloading the exe update, as I don't know if old saved games will work with the new exe or not. I just sent it to Brian, so it probably won't be on the Dome till tomorrow...no worries... |

Thanks, Jackal! I appreciate the input in a big way. I really tried to think through on this mod what hasn't been done a million times already. I know there are lots of mutant based mods, and a lot of games that use some of the graphics that I have used, but the theme and new character is what I was hoping would help make it a little different, as well as different level style from Hundscheisse. My hope is that the finale of the game will blow players away. The final two boss levels before 10 were done by ack (thanks, ack!), and they up the challenge a bit before the end, but in a good way. Kyo, if you beat the game, PM me and tell me what you thought of the finale.
Thank you to Brian for the updates! And thanks to Adam for creating them. I thought we had everything covered before release, but stuff pops up sometimes. Hopefully that will be the last of it. I am glad though that the saved games still work with the new exe and you don't have to lose your progress.
I forgot to credit WSJ for the table sprites with the zombies on them. Those are his doing, or at least I got them from a mod he made - I am not sure who made them originally. I hope you don't mind I used the sprites I did from your mods, but I started trying to draw similar things and discovered you had done it already and it looked excellent. I was inspired by Project Eisenritter to do something more "mutanty". |
