This is a pretty nice list Greg. I've added it to my Version.h file some time ago, along with some vgagraph variations.

One thing I noticed, is that all versions of the Shareware Wolf3d have the readthis enabled (so it's more accurate without a GOODTIMES tag). Tell me, does this actually compile correctly for the Japanese version without any changes? Wink

I haven't tested it for the Japanese version even though I have the original Japanese version to test it. But.. from what I understand, I think Haasboy has been using the Japanese side to reduce the memory usage even more...

No it won't compile correctly cos the GFX files aren't include, as the Japanese version as a lot more images in the VGA file than the English version.

Yeah, I noticed that too, but making those shouldn't be too hard if you had the vgagraph/vgahead.wj6 files to start with - setting up your new control lumps accordingly (C_ENDRATIOSPIC, C_JAPQUITPIC, C_JAPNEWGAMEPIC, C_JAPSAVEOVERPIC). I think the japanese version might be somewhat compatible with the Apogee version in regards to everything else, or atleast closer to it.

It'd be interesting to see if there are any other catches, though, too. Do you have the 4-level demo or the full version Greg?

IGRAB, for what it's worth, is in the TED5 download in the ROTT download section at:
http://3drealms.com/downloads.html (search for TED5)
It's in the TEDTILES folder once you unzip TED5.ZIP. The source is also included. I've never really looked into it any further than that, but there you go.

EDIT: I believe you need the VGAGRAPH/VGAHEAD files to use it though.

Those aren't the only pics, cos if you look at the source code you'll notice that the helpart and endart rely on pics as well as the menu, the confirmation messages and intermission screens are all pics as the japanese version I think doesn't use a font system, so the pics would probably start at 0. I tried using most of the Japanese version of the code, when I startyed DT, but it's was tons of work cos of all the images it uses, plus the one section of the code I couldn't get it to work 100%.

I was wondering, is there a demo version of Japanese wolf available can't seem to find it anywhere, even though I've searched quit extensively. I'm not surprised if it's nowhere to be found anymore. No I'm not asking for the full version, that would be illegal.

What about the spanish version, is there a demo or shareware for it? Or perhaps those localized flavors of wolf3d were cancelled suddenly and werent released? Like the chinese version of windows 3.x.?

You can make the Spanish version by changing a line in version.h. Then you can make the full and demo version...
