Ok we still need to make a large amount of art changes. Many people have been offering art help, but I have not heard any replies after I told them what needs to be done, so I'm going to tell you what we need up here, so you don't have to worry about mucking with all the files and can just post the art. If you wanna help in other areas contact me through email, or pm me.

So please help out! New jobs are open as other people have decided to let some jobs up to others in hopes to increase the amount of contributions of a large variety of people. Here's what we need in each department in the art:

Enemy sprites: PM me if you're interestedFor this you'll need the vswap in the file section of www.groups.yahoo.com/group/dhwtc as all the enemies now have shadows, and I'd prefer not to remake all the shadows to fit the modifcation. I just need modified versions of all the enemies. Recoloring jobs will do fine as long as there is some other slight modification involved, like a new helmet, or coat, or gloves, or something. I'd prefer the weapons to be the same. ONLY THE GUARDS NEED MODIFIED, NOT THE HITLER CLONE, THE GHOSTS, OR ANY OF THE BOSSES.

Static objects: This count has grown, since a friend of mine that was helping, Quickman, decided to let the rest up to others.

We need:

Cryogenic Capsule:(PM me if you are interested, it's nothing hard just something I'd prefer to keep secret.)

Hanging lamp

Flag

lying skeleton

bones

bones in blood

hanging skeleton

pieces of bone in a pile

pieces of bone in a pile#2

Hanging utensils#1

hanging utensils#2

Sink

Bed

The treasure chest needs to be replaced\modified

Skulls on a pike(can be what you want, but must have a hellish look to it and be kinda gorey)

Bull skull on a pike(same as above, but must still look pretty grand and symmetrical in appearance)

Title Screen: For this you'll need to pm me for more info

Intermission screens: Once again you'll need to pm me for more info if you'd like to help in this area.

New BJ Pic this one is in the works, but I may need some help on animations and detail after I get the initial frames done.

There may be more things we need in the art dept. but for now this is a fairly comprehensive list.

Disclaimer You will be credited for anything you submit and we use, no matter how little work you may think you have done. Your submission may be subject to modification to fit in with the rest of the style, but you will still be credited, and have the right to take your art out if you don't like the modification. This list is subject to change and will change as submissions are given, so if you wanna see what is still available check back to this first post.

I could have a go at some of the static objects if you like, im working on some for my game and am making fast progress so im sure a few extras won't hurt. Are you sure you want skulls because i could draw proper heads on a pike, but thats only if you really want it...

Crap..I did a medkit too. Ringman, I know I'm a slacker, a major slacker. I'll finish and post the stuff I have half done tonight.

I can do a hell texture also, I'll start on that tonight as well.

@Andy: Your medkit is good but a little small and grainy, If you want I'll fix it up myself, or we can just use Chief's since he made one, if that's ok with you. Sorry for the criticism, but I do appreciate the effort, Thanks.

@BrotherTank: The statusbar can be whatever color style you think would look good. We are using the normal wolf palette.

@Chief: No big deal, man I was just trying to lighten your load a bit. And as I said this is on a first come first serve thing, depending on if I like and use it.

@Metal Overlord: Well we do need a water puddle.... Very Happy But not too bad a of blood, you just need to get the perspective right, and perhaps make it's height a tad less. Try studying the blood in Wolf and you'll see. I agree that it's hard though. I've always had trouble getting the pools to look right cause of the faked 3d perspective, but don't give up man! Wink

Ok. I made an edit of the water puddle in Blake Stone, I edited the colors and the look of it.

EDIT: I just made an edit of the gold key in "Lost Episodes". I went for a slightly more realistic look for it:

Why not post your pictures in the Album (aka Image Gallery)?

@Ringman:

As for the colours, it's good to know that you are using the original palette, but what colour scheme is the game? ie: characters, walls, etc... Do you want some type of theme?

How many weapons are there for the game? As using the original statusbar design requires the weapon to be displayed on it and those would also need to be designed to fit the game. Are their any other things added to it ei: Armour, Timeclock, or things of that nature?

With the Wolfplus statusbar, I just changed things around a little but you are limited in what you can do as each image placed on it, ie: weapons, digits, key pics etc. must be in 8px format. I know I'm asking a lot, but it gives me more an idea of what you want. Also, did you want the readme screen to follow the same format?

@Metal Overlord: The puddle looks pretty nice. I am definitely gonna see how it looks, thanks! As for the key, I'd prefer it to be from scratch, but it does look pretty good, and I'll probably use it as well.

@BT I appreciate all the questions. Thanks, for taking the time to ask them. As for needing room for any features, we do not. It simply needs to look like the original wolf statusbar in it's style of format. You know, a space for a weapon pic, score, ammo, lives, floor number, BJ's head pic etc.

As for color scheme, I really can't give you a dead set idea. It would be interesting to see a statusbar that looks kind of like computer readouts, with wires attached, but I'd prefer to avoid using a silver color. Maybe a neat red or blue mettalic look would work.

I'll have to get back to you on the read this page: I'm not sure where I wanna go with that just yet.

the first is modified LE water
the second is a heavily modified original water
the last I erased most of a sprite and ended with that (cant remember, maybe skulls on stick)

Ok... I've got more:

1. Do all the spots where numbers, keys, and weapons have to be in the original places?
2. How many weapons are in the game? And What are they if not original?
3. Are the numbers to be drawn on the statusbar kept original (background colour changed to match)?
3. How many Keys are you using? If more than the original 2 - what colours are they?
4. Do you want text type names/defines for "Ammo/Score/etc" or graphics?

No problem avoiding silver/gray. Computer readout?? Interesting, but too constricted in only 40 pixels high. Metallic look... Hmm... Like the Metal Wall (original) with rivets? That's possible... In red or blue... Sure... I can do both.

And there's more...

Depending on the style, can I move things around the bar to achieve a different look?
Should the Score area be increased to add the 7th digit?

I guess what I am asking is can I design the bar anyway I feel and have the programmer match the code to the new statusbar?

@BT: I really appreciate how seriously you are taking this! Very Happy Adam Biser is our coder, so why not ask him what he's willing to do and then you can go from there with your design. As for new weapons/items/ammo/keys all is like the original. There is only 2 keys, 4 weapons 1 ammo type and no armor. Be as liberal and creative as you wish, but consult Adam first.

The puddle is an edit of the original Blake Stone puddle. I made it more round and edited the shade of blue.

Here's another sprite, It is going to be in TGOEL, but you can use it if you want to:

@Jackal Your blood and bones looked pretty good I replaced one of the chunks of bones and stuff with it. I also am currently using your modified orignal puddle, thanks! You're credited.

Ok.... Statusbars done... 2 types, in Red and Blue. Both are identical except for colour. 320x40 is a limited space, but I've done what I can to make it look good, yet completely different from the original. It now has depth and texture, as well as an organized appearance. I couldn't really do much more without converting it to complete digital settings using bars and the like (which means much more programming in the source).

I used the digital number set. I increased the score to 7 digits. I moved things around immensely, but it retains the original options (although I wanted to add more). The zip contains all the digits, the statusbars, the weapons, and the keys.

To get it to work within the game, the source needs a few changes.

The Level is now at: LatchNumber (10,19,2,gamestate.mapon+1);
The Gold Key is now at: StatusDrawPic (13,4,GOLDKEYPIC);
The Silver Key is now at: StatusDrawPic (13,20,SILVERKEYPIC);
The Score is now at: LatchNumber (2,19,7,gamestate.score);
The Ammo is now at: LatchNumber (29,19,2,gamestate.ammo);
The Health is now at: LatchNumber (22,19,3,gamestate.health);
Bj's Face is now at: StatusDrawPic (18,4,FACE8APIC);
Number of Lives is now at: LatchNumber (16,19,1,gamestate.lives);
DrawWeapon remains the same at: StatusDrawPic (32,8,KNIFEPIC+gamestate.weapon);

With all of that (the above - I did it to make things easier for Adam and anyone else who likes them and decides to use them), you should be able to get it working. I've got it tested here and all is fine using the above defines.
