The new topics on my account are wrong. Right now I can see that Adam posted the last message on Code Crackers, but he is not on-line, there's no post of him. This is happening everytime and old posts I have checked turns into "new" posts. In case of Code Tutorials, the last post was from Ripper, but sometimes it shows me that there's a new post from MJR, but there's nothing there" Sad

This happens for two reasons.....

1. The cookie stored on your computer when you view the site has been damaged in some way...

2. The date/time on your system is not matching that of the server.

For example... You accidently change your computers clock to say March when it's still January... The information about your last visit and your last read information is stored in the cookie on your system. It takes the servers information (date/time) and saves that along with your computers date/time information. When you log in after doing this... You will constantly see the same items being "new" or with "new posts" even though they are not. The other thing that will happen is that they will not reset to read even after being read. The reason for this is the time/date difference between your computer and that of the server. If left alone, the problem will clear itself when the servers date reaches the date mistake you made on your machine when you logged on with the mistake...

I can vouch for this as I experimented with this a few weeks ago.. I accidently set my computer 24 hours ahead.. I logged into the forums with this error... did what I had to do... logged out... and then noticed the difference in my clock to that of the forums. I quickly fixed my clock and then noticed the exact same problem you are now describing. After my server time/date passed the accidentally set time/date on my system, things returned to normal.

How can you fix it??

1. Depending on how far the distance was time wise between that of your system and the server, you can just wait it out and things will return to normal.

or

2. You can log in... Read everything that is listed as new.. and know that you are caught up to the latest information on the forums... Then delete the cookie stored on your system from "diehardwolfers.areyep.com".... with the cookie name being "areyephpbb2dhw"...

The choice is up to you, but it's not the server that has the problem... it's your system and the cookie that was generated based on the information given to the server by your computer.
