I know of B. Princes own midi's of some of Wolf3D's music and Juan Alva Guerra's recent-ish ones.

But I was wondering, are there any other midi's (i.e midi's with samples that sound vaguely like the original tracks, not just the original IMF's ran through IMF2MID and nothing else) of Wolf3d/SOD's music out there or if someone would be prepared to make some (obviously credit would be given)?

http://forums.newdoom.com/showthread.php?t=28402 (I'm to lazy to type out a description of the project again :p)

EDIT: Altered question to sound more like what I meant it to say.

Thank you Mario, but our Princess is in another castle. Twisted Evil Sarcastic

You know what IMF2MID does, don't you? I don't see how any midi could be more "proper" than that (after making accurate octave and instrument adjustments to fit with the sounds of the song). It would be pretty easy to make proper midis for the entire wolf3d from the raw extractions if you actually tried that.

Random obligatory link full of wolf3d midis.

Sorry. I must have written it poorly. I've altered my original post accordingly.

I meant midi's with samples that sound vaguely like the original tracks, not just the original IMF's ran through IMF2MID and nothing else.

Ok man, sorry if I seemed a little rude there too. Embarassed

Any songs in particular that you're looking for? It would fun to see a list of which songs you already have and sound well enough to be in the game. I don't know how the midi instruments sound in Doomsday (is it just the direct from your soundcard, or does it have it's own soundbank?), but the project seems interesting.

I'd probably suggest getting in touch with Juan or WSJ if you still need more; they both seem to enjoy making midis that are very true to the original.

Don't know if you're including Spear Of Destiny songs, but I did release an "SS Gonna Get You" Midi to the Wolf3D Dome. Click below.

Thanks Chris and Tricob.

I found a couple of tracks that may be suitable from the zips in that thread you linked to Chris/Chokster37.

I've also contacted Juan and he's kindly made/provided midi versions of the rest of the tracks we don't have.

Credit will of course be given to the creators of any of the tracks used.

So now the TC will have all of Wolf3d's level music Smile

Juan has made a new version of 'Wessel's Song'. It's listed on the Dome News (see Oct 15 post) at http://www.wolfenstein3d.co.uk/news.htm

i got a guy that is not a fan of wolf-3d but a macintosh expert to extract the mac music into midi's, they sound slightly different, like some of the drums sound like claps, but they are on the news page.
They are only from 1st encounter, so I asked Phroggy (the guy) if he could do the rest.
I plan to use them in the new MAC-DOS port of Wolf3d, which is going pretty well.

Questions? live4battle@aol.com Mr Green

also, did anyone notice that the intro songs for 1st encounter and 3rd encounter are slightly different?
near the end of the tune, the backround cannonized harmony sounds like a church organ in the 1st encounter, but in 3rd, its different and its also only in 3rd supported by a drum beat.
