Gods of the Ethereal Reality is 16 new levels for Spear of Destiny, and is the sequel to The Crumbling Reich.

I want to thank Das Soldat for all his help in the graphical dept and making this step away from the norm. Thank you so much for your time in this project.

Feel free to download it off of the dome....I just sent it over there so it will be up shortly, or download it from here: http://www.amishracecar.com/mike/ then select "gods.zip"

Please let me know what you all think. I am planning to do a follow up...and if you all like it a lot I will go for it. If you don't like it then give me some feedback on what you think the problems areas are.

I haven't posted this mod yet. Some of the later levels (from level 4 onwards) had a lot of odd walls when I played it. Could you check the vswap is the right one.

To tell the truth, this mod is bad. Not worth playing.

Well, I think it is not completely bad...
There is some very good levels too, though
some of them are a bit - strange.

I like this - keep it up (though I think you should try to pay more
attention to the textures and how you place them).

Actually the walls were meant to be that way. The whole mod takes place in dreamwords so I wanted it to be a little weird.

Maybe so...but I am at least trying something new....and considering the levels were made like 8 years ago -just never saw the light of day- I don't think it turned out bad.

If everyone wants it cleaned up and straightforward levels then that is easy to do...but that would be the same old wolf3d. The next project I was thinking of would be even weirder, but it would break it from the norm of "kill everything you see".

I know this one can be tough to get into...it looks like 1st time levels in some spots...so you either like it or don't. I do...I still have fun playing it. I'd love feedback as to what you think would make it better....but in the end: I like it so that makes it a great mod...if others like it then that is a big bonus.

I really like your mod's concept. I just didn't get very excited about its levels.

Part of the reason I didn't like the maps better was because there was too much of one wall - Grey Stone 1. There were no Grey Stone 2s or 3s anywhere to give the texture of the walls variation.

Also, the way to execute this "weird" sort of feel in the levels would be to have "in-between" wall images, where they're not quite one wall or the other. They'd be something like the multi-colored bricks from the Nocturnal Missions episodes, only the textures as well as the colors are changed.

Tricob- yea...I mainly lay down Grey Stone 1 only...it never bothers me because I an sprinting through the area. That is one thing that I didn't really go back to touch up. Never knew it would be that noticible...you live and learn.

Also the inbetween walls would have ben a nice touch....maybe next time I will have to do that.

Dean- the sound wasn't messed up..all the voices were reversed.

OK, I've played the first 2 levels and to be honest the maps are very, very basic. Most of the rooms there just doesnt seem to be any direction or reason for going into them. The levels are extremely lacking in decoration and the rooms are all just big square blocks.
In Level 2 there is one long hallway with the elevator at the other end? Sorry, but there just isn't enough to keep me interested at playing it any further.

What I can recommend is to download some of the better known mods from the Dome and have a look at some of the level designs that have been used, look at the way the rooms were decorated and the way the rooms were designed and layout. This will no doubt help give you some broader ideas when you're next mapping.

Also, if you do decide to make a sequel just lemme know. I would be happy to do work on levels, graphics, sounds, and maybe even music if you want.

Ok...I see your point. I made a couple levels with a choice to rush trough for speed or take a little time to try to get 100% everything. There is another level that is really short, where if you are rushing though you will miss a lot of kills and treasure. I kind of like that because it gives the player the choice of what route to take. Also the origional Wolf did the same with a lot of "pointless" rooms....unless you wanted everything.

I've downloaded a couple from the Dome but haven't had too much time to play them. I've got a lot going on so I pretty much had time to make sure this adventure was still the complete version...so I wasn't able to do much in the way of touch-ups. If no one is crazy about it then that is fine. I like it so to that I say, "Oh well, I tried." It is 8 years old so I just wanted to finally get it out there...it had waited long enough.

Das- Thank you....I have a lot more playing to do before I start working on the next...and a lot more thinking about how to pull it off. Nesxt time I see you on then I will tell you about it.
