Alright, itís that time of the year when curiosity knocks at the door. Donít know if this little poll will get many replies, but Iíd like to see as much out of it as itís meant to bring. This time, the imaginary setting places you on a desert island with a computer thatís able to play Spear/Wolf with music, sounds and all the rest thatís left to consider. All the official releases of the game, including the Lost Episodes, are installed on your electronic companion. No need to worry about electricity or batteries for it, as the island appears to exert some sort of mystical force thatís kept it alive and kicking for countless months now. One day, when all hopes of being rescued seem weaker than ever and after the original games have already become pretty boring, the fairy godmother of Spear/Wolf mods makes her appearance and tells you that sheíll be kind enough to magically summon ten titles of your preference and leave them on the ever-running machine that keeps you company. At the moment you can think of at least a dozen better wishes to make but she turns all of them down and says ten Spear/Wolf mods is the best sheíll grant for the time being. In view of the circumstances, you are faced with the task of naming ten titles to make your life a bit happier for either as long as somebody takes to come and rescue you, or until she decides to make a second appearance and put some more interesting wishes on the table.

In alphabetical order, I think theseíd be my picks:

* acktung! Ė The Original & Nocturnal Missions
* Alliance of Powers
* Beyond Mutantstein SE
* End of Destiny
* Operation Letzterschutz
* Revival of Memories
* Spear Resurrection
* The Golden Episodes
* The Halls of Stonehenge
* The Orb of Dilaaria

Whatíd be yours?

Ariel

-Bar room Bliz
-EoD
-Castle Hasselhoff
-Project Totengraeber
-Beyond Wolfenstein II (Special edition)
-Operation Eisenritter (well actually all WSJs mods are worth of mentioning but this one I remembered first)
-All this and Wolfenstein 3D
-Mutant blobs from Uranus
-Operation Todphad
-Wolfbell 3 (infact the whole series is as good, but I liked this the most).

This is pretty tough. There are alot of good ones...

End of Destiney

Orb of Dilaaria

Wolfendoom

Trench Warfare

The False Spear

All This And Wolfenstein

Halls of Stonehenge

Doom Legions of Hell

Project Totengraeber

Zero Hour (Phase Two)

I'll have to stick with those for now, but if Trail of Schabbs was out I'd would probably have to add that one...

Wow Ariel....

You chose Beyond Mutantstein SE....

Man, I remember that one all too well... Too bad that it's not up for download on the Dome. I found it in Brian's home site, but not on the Dome anywhere..

It was so difficult back then to get the engine out to everyone and then get them to make the maps, send them back... choose through them all... (thank goodness that some people delivered more maps than they promised to make up for the few that never showed up... )... As a matter of fact... That engine was actually the early SR code from MCS. He moved onto another version for Spear Resurrection and gave me that one to use for the game....

Yep... that is one of the good ones... I couldn't really choose... down to 10, as I've got many favorites. Especially some of the older ones that most of the younger crowd probably haven't played yet. Anyhow... I would probably have to include the Tribute set that we did... It made me proud to be part of it and of all the people who got involved...

Yes, it was an honour for me too to be allowed to participate. Being the gentleman that he is, Brian kindly let me me help in a couple of minor issues after having made space for my two little maps. I remember that he wanted the mod to be out in time for Christmas in 2K2 but we were a bit pressed in terms of the resources that were supposed to be sent in. Fortunately, time proved enough and the tribute got uploaded as a present for the entire world. It was great to be among all those names that composed the credits list, some of them absent for years now...

Iím sure that John Bucksnort wouldíve enjoyed the tribute we put together. However, I like to think that he is enjoying it, wherever he is now...

Yep, unfortunately, I had hoped to release it for christmas as well, but because of the things that happened with work (I was shanghai'd in shanghai), I was forced to pass the last of the production to Brian... I had tested most of the maps and got all the graphics/engine stuff put together and finalized, but was short a map or two and then it needed the final test... I really thank Brian for taking over that work for me... and getting it out as fast as he could...

But, as I said... It's hard to pick just 10.... I guess I would take the editors versions of both Resurrection and EoD... that way I could create new stuff once I was exhausted playing everything out.... Or I'd as for 1 CD... which has everything on it... Graphics Editors, Map Editors, and every game that has been released using the wolf Engine... lol...

Well with a strict list of ten I might not cover everything, also I've not played a lot, but of what I've played here's some of the finest ones:

Spear Ress.
End of Destiny
Totengraeber
Guns and Glory, the main episode
Op Letzterschutz
All this and Wolf3D (Floor 69 alone would make this a lister for me!!)
All ack's vanilla Wolf/Spear games + Alliance of Powers
Coming of the Storm
Spear Reloaded
W.O.L.F.

These might not be the ten best but these are ten mods I definitely liked most immensely and have already completed.
