Wolfendoom is fantastic. The TC version spices up the menu a bit.
Maybe not the best, but definately one of the best.

It look like one of original wolferstein 3d called Doomstein 3D, I played this game first then WolfenDoom Smile Did you ever played on Doomstein 3D before?

I love this game...it served as an inspiration for me to make my own TC, not because I wanted to borrow the Doom concept, but because it showed that will a little creativity and a lot of patience, you can make a TC with familiar elements from another game but enough originality to be a game all on it's own. The bottom line is that it's fun and playable, and that's what I look for in a TC. Who doesn't?

Yeah, that was what I thought...I find it strange that since the demos are apparantly based on "fixed behavior" of the player and the enemies, that the enemies behave the same everytime the demo is run on the original maps...I liked that graphic that comes up on the Wolfendoom demos, though...I was trying to cook up something similarly humorous for my own work, but so far no luck... Smile

Since I more or less know who everyone in the Wolf 3D community is these days (with some exception), and I'm such a huge fan of this game (like I said, it inspired me to seek another FPS I liked and convert it into the Wolf engine), I'd be curious to know...who did the graphics for Wolfendoom? I've heard credit given to other sources for some of them in this game, and I even read about it on the web site, but I'm still in the dark...and I noticed some odd things about some of the animations while looking at them in Flo Edit (the demon block, for example...) Laughing

Lol! Most of the gfx in Wolfendoom are from Doom of course Smile But a number of them (desk with computer, rubber plant, hanging plant, toilet, Grim Reaper, truck gfx etc) were done by myself, pixel by pixel, in Wolfedit (I didn't have Paint Shop Pro back then). The "skull" ghost (which I use as my current avatar) is actually a touched up image of the character "Aracula" from the cartoon series "Skeleton Warriors" which was on TV here back in 1994.

Wow! Nice work...I can appreciate the work involved in the added graphics that aren't doom exactly in Wolfendoom...I like to look over other's artwork in detail after I finish their TC's...a lot of the time you miss the work that went into them when you're actually playing through the game...Wolfendoom STILL is one of my favorite TC's...I can't say why...it just is...Laughing

I've always really loved WolfenDOOM. It has some of the most creative level design I've ever seen...and, quite frankly, I think it's the closest a TC you can make to becoming a version of DOOM in the Wolf3D engine. I also like how areyep effectively used very simple source changes to get good effects. Especially the portals, which took me a little while to figure out how he did them. I won't say anything here, but if you notice, the "portal" levels all have the same dark grey ceiling color...

I thought that effect was fairly simple...if you mean the wall to ceiling coloration thing. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but cool in it's simplicity. Uncool, however, is a couple of odd occasions where I got "lost" just trying to pass through a portal into the Doom dimension. It was in the second episode I think, and I kept getting turned around and winding up back in the facility instead of going through the portal. I like Wolfendoom because it does make me forget I'm playing a Wolfenstein game, and genuinly feels like Doom, while ditching some of the things I didn't like about original Doom like required "jumping" to far off areas and falling into pools of muck you couldn't climb out of...argh... Confused

I voted above average.

Although not all the graphics were original, they were still nice, and the levels had good atmosphere. The bosses were nice and tough too, which I apprieciate in a tc Very Happy
I also enjoyed the many pushwall puzzles where you would have to move one block to move another, it was pretty clever.
The portals were a bit confusing at first, but I liked it overall. There were quite a few creative innovations, and good levels.

Er...Wolfendoom does indeed rock, but we musn't criticize others for their differing point of view...ie whoever said it was poor. Just because someone likes something less than I do doesn't diminish my enjoyment of it any... Smile For example, I still love "The Ladies Man", even though many folks I know think it's crap...Laughing

I voted Above Average. As Mikey X said, the game is a bit outdated by the flood of technology for Wolf that has come in the last 2 years. It has an awesome story, great graphics, and is in my opinion the best conversion of another game to Wolfenstein to date!

The game needs to be updated. The source has the same problems that were in Wolfenstein, and the game doesn't even compare technologically to Spear Ressurection. Areyep is busy on EOD, but if the game was released as open source then we wolfers could pick through it and update it with all the fancy stuff. Just a suggestion here, I'm not badgering Steve to run out right now to put the source up there, but I'd say it might be a good idea for this classic TC.

I thought this actually was a bit average compared to todays standards. I would like to see a remake with the plasma rifle shooting projectiles, rocket launcher, high res wepaons, etc

I will always consider this a great game. I fell in love with all the characters I hadn't ever seen before. Yes, I knew nothing about Doom. It wasn't until about a year later I found out the imps belonged to Doom. I wasn't let down, I still think the size AReyeP made them in his game was better than the original. Wolfendoom was one of the first games where I noticed the enemies had a lot more smarts than in most Wolfenstein mods. I played with eyes wide open and brain on overdrive. I thank AreyeP for that. Hurrah for floating fire heads!

But, Noah's Ark is rated higher than Wolfendoom on my list because of the darn cute animals. D'oh!

p.s. AReyeP, are you going to make a Wolfendoom sequel?

I really hope he makes one though. With all the different code modifications available, not to mention improvements in graphic and map making, it could be one of the best!
