wow thats cool man, plus i think you gave me some ideas. does it matter how many channels the midi has (say 8 over 16?) when using IMF Creator? i'd like to see verdi's dies irae done in imf, that would be a perfect song for a boss level.

heres a good midi of it here lol *nudge nudge lol*

This song uses a lot of fast cycling strings and winds, and a lot of notes that pulsate instead of sustain. This will add up quick because IMF files take up room by how many notes (and instrument changes) there are. You should try IMFCreator yourself to see the results first (best way to learn), and experiment by disabling certain channels (like the ones that are doing crazy scales and arpeggios) and/or editing certain areas in the midi file with Anvil Studios or a freeware midi program. Good luck Smile

Or a limitless alternative is to use AlumiuN's Advanced Sound Manager for your music:

Then you could have vocals too, like in this version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55c-CvO28Ck Laughing

I believe Havoc was able to hack Wolf4SDL so that it could use midi instead of imf too. Might want to ask him about that.

Yes, Havoc did indeed hack MIDI into SDL - and I am thankful for that. I've found many atmospheric MIDI's that would just lose their entire meaning should they be converted to IMF.
