Has anyone here ever played this game from 1987?

Check out how everything on the status bar works! And the wall textures! And the landscape and "E1L1-like" themes! And the dimensions of the rooms/doors! And the health kits and keys! Maybe ID actually called their game "Wolfenstein" to avoid copyright infringement with this shooter? It sure looks closer to wolf3d than "Castle Wolfenstein" does - in my opinion. Laughing

The characters and walls do resemble that of Wolf3D; good eye for noticing that. Smile

Nice find Chris, i was very surprised as well to see things that looked similar to Wolf. I take it that this predates Wolf 3D then? Do you have any idea by how much?

Yup. I came across someone talking about it on the 3drealms forum (post #10), and thought it might be cool to post a topic about it here too. Aside from the graphics and layout, I find it's score system and ammo limits particularily interesting. Smile

Most places say it was released in either 1986 or 1987... so I'm assuming about 5 or 6 years?
The game is pretty challenging, most people I've talked to about it haven't even made it past level 1 yet; haha.

Nice find, Chris. I also think the resemblance is closer.

By the way, I removed the 'warez' link and replaced it with some images and a MobyGames link instead.

I remember getting past the first level the very first time I played it. I'd played several levels of Cyber-Dogs beforehand, though. Smile

Going by one reviewer's comments on the game, he said that I.T.E.N. was "the same every time you play it", so you can probably pass each level simply by memorizing a set of moves, like one does to pass levels in the arcade version of Double Dragon.

I get the maps of this game, they are amazing at all... I think that they can be adapted to wolf3D without problem... and since I'm build a "new missions" pack on my wolfenstein remake I'll try it... Smile

I once got Castle wolfenstein working, it sucked, it just had a 2D room with a bunch of guards randomly going "bleep bleep" jumping around the room, and when they touch you you become "caught" apparently the guards are blind and just buzz randomly around the room till they bump into you and go, who's that? *feels your head* square jaw *feels your lips* no tiny square moustache hmm.. *feels your hair* No helmet! *feels your ID Badge* Hello..i..am..American *Gasp* ALAAAAARM!!!! KAZA COMA SCHNELL!! AMERICANA!
