Hi, I've been getting ppl messaging me about another bug in my latest add-on, Project Toten Eisen Ritter. It happens when the player blows up the barrel on level 12 after the iron key door and the game crashes with this error:

"Walk, bad dir"

I wonder if this error is caused by something in the code? Cause I originally though it could be something in the level design, but then I realized it was probably something to do with the code.

Can anybody help me out here? Please and thanks?

This error occurs in WL_STATE.CPP. "TryWalk" simply tells the Actor to move (or attempt to move) from one square to another on the map. The error comes up when the Actor is told to "walk" in a "direction" the code doesn't know how to handle.

"TryWalk" is called up in both "patrol" and "attack" mode. More than likely, the Actor was told to move around, but the code isn't telling him which direction to go.

The solution? Look for "T_Path" and "T_Chase" in statetypes where they don't belong. That'll spawn the error every time. Smile
