A small mod consisting of 7 levels. You are constantly moving forward, and if you touch a wall or object, you will die. You can still both run and strafe.

Just played through the whole set.. Had a blast! Level 6 felt just like Flappy Bird, and all levels were pretty challenging to get a 100% score.

I think this type of gameplay would be awesome to experiment with further.. Maybe making the back arrow button be a slower speed, maybe doors can be shot open, new graphics (I don't know why, but I feel that the HUD graphics, textures, and weapons from Hotel Romanstein GOLD edition would go nicely in a game like this with new music and sounds).

Thanks, gerolf! I would love to experiment with it some more, but I have said that of most of mini-mods. Time constraints usually prevents this unfortunately.

I played a bit of it and am I the only one that feels a bit like FPS version of Anaconda? Y'know... That old snake game, you eat the fruit, get bigger, can't crash into walls or your own tail...

Pretty interesting mod though, nicely done, RonWolf. Smile

Thanks! Anaconda, is that also known as Snake? I am familiar with the concept, though it wasn't something that inspired this mod in particular. Been a while since I played that game.

Yes! My bad, in TimeSplitters 2 you can play it as a bonus game but it's called Anaconda so that's where I got the title confused...

ronwolf1705, this one is most certainly quite innovative. No doubt unlike anything else done so far. Kudos for the innovation factor...

Might I suggest, should you do something like this (or similar) in the future, to allow players to slow down to a certain extent by pressing whatever key is defined as the backward key? I know I would have liked that here as things were a bit vertiginous sometimes. Maybe I'm getting old and just couldn't handle it, I don't know...

I always want to expand upon my mini-mods, but time constraints don't allow me that unfortunately. It will probably remain a one time thing. The backward key actually used to stop the player at first, but I disabled it. Unfortunately, as the base for these mini-mods are my own limitations as a coder, I wouldn't be able to code in the slowing down. Personally, I consider it to be part of the challenge that you can't do anything about the speed. It's what makes the mod challenging (and no doubt, at times, frustrating).

I don't mean to belittle Arielus's thoughts on the coding matter, but I completely agree with RonWolf. After all, the mod is called Rollercoaster Ride and as such, you can't make a rollercoaster slow down or stop to make it less scary. Or like the game Ron and I were talking about (Snake), you can't stop/slow down the snake to decide which direction to turn next. It adds difficulty to the small project. Smile

Thanks! That was the inspiration, and I originally I wanted to stick closer to that concept. But while creating levels I personally thought it would be more interesting to approach this as a FPS on rails. The original intention is still easy to spot though.
