Hey All. Just noticed that the Dome is alive again! YESSSS!!!! Every once in a blue moon, I get a hankering to do wolf modding. Sometimes this turns into something, most of the time it never goes very far. So I have a lot of unused stuff just lying around. I tend to save as much as I can, just in case.

Lately I've been seeing stuff I made YEARS ago showing up in other things. Especially the ol' rottweiller I made for the DHWTC which has now become one of the staple dogs of the wolf3d mod-verse. That's AWESOME! So Ive decided to start releasing stuff I've done in the past that never really got used for anything. I'm not sure how often I'll get around to doing this, but I'll try to throw some stuff on here every now and then.

So I'll start with some stuff I've done recently. Lost Episode revamps. The one I have on hand is the Devil Incarnate finished. You may laugh at his silliness, but I always thought he was silly to begin with. He may need some touch ups here and there, but feel free to use him and mod him however you like. Id appreciate credit given, but seeing my art going on into other things is a reward in its own.

Here's all the SOD Lost episode stuff I have lying around. It includes mods for 3 of the weapons, some textures, and The Axe and Submarine Willy. The Axe still needs some work, but Submarine Willy is mostly finished.

Wow! These look amazing! It adds a lot more depth and dimension to the boss sprites, and a lot of the walls now look acceptable. There's a steelier feel to the pipe walls, the weird slime thing you see behind you when you start level 1 looks a lot more acceptable... And I just love the curtain wall. Could be great for unveiling treasure or something.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot MBFU3D stuff in there, but I was actually making a model of a blob the other day for god knows what reason, and thought. I bet I could use this for an HD version of MBFU3D. I've thought about making a sequel several times. MBFU3D : Smell on earth Though I think I'd have to be able to sell it before I'd put that much work into it anytime today.

No models were used for the original game. All of it was drawn from scratch. I made the game about blobs, because the plan was to make it in a week and blobs are easy to draw from any angle. I was like, "How hard could it be? I'll just draw a circle, and use triangles for arms and legs! Then I can just add horns for this one, and recolor it red. A NEW ENEMY!!! I'm a GENIUS!!!! <(>O<)> "

Do you still have the original files? Any chance of at least an SDL release of the original?

I've released MAC-res art for Blobs scenery in the past....any chance for them being used in some release?

If you're not planning to redo any of the sounds, a simple 128x128 EXE shouldn't be all that difficult; I got the 64x64 version running with one of my "Base Of Operations" builds. It actually worked a bit better to me with that build, because the Episode Select screen was disabled, and the Apogee-specific features were disabled as well.

Wow. I didn't realize there was so much interest in this. I'm interested in the MAC-res art for the Blobs. I don't think I've seen it.

The "HD art" I included in the zip, is still 64x64 but looked less "cartoony" than the original. As for SDL conversion, I'm completely clueless at how to do this, as I haven't done it yet. As for the original files, everything should be sitting in the included files with the game in the VSWAP and what not and be able to be extracted by any modding software. Any coding changes were done with a hex editor, since the mod was made from the original wolf3d demo. I think the only thing I legitimately changed was some text and floor and ceiling colors.

I'll do the straight SDL conversion and let Ringman decide whether to include any of the updated art. He may also want to reserve the art for an SDL "re-make" ala WSJ.

These are really neat, but they are missing the floor shadows/lighting usually associated with wolf 3d objects which helps to add depth and hide the fact that the floor is a solid color. Something I should have done with the actual blob enemies, IMHO.

In fact this makes me want to do a mapset, using the upgraded graphics. I can have lights on and off and variations of the different screens. Its really cool. I think I may be getting that itch ...
