I know it's a tad early but I thought I'd start a poll for what people think of this. I've not played much myself and will not vote yet, but I will say Ipank never fails to impress me as a vanilla(ish) mapper. |

Put Excellent, but just for the protocol - I'd make weapon system easier and simpler to handle and calculate. |

Agree with doomjedi re: weapon system. Otherwise I put Excellent. I love the old school feel mixed with smooth, modern-esque coding and usage of guards of weapons. Hadn't seen an outdoor level in ages that consisted or a mere green floor and light sky ceiling. |

@doomjedi What does 'for the protocol' mean?
I do assume the weapon system complaint is fairly minor though? The first iLOW was no different. |

I had the same issue with the first iLOW
"For the protocol" - despite giving it "Excellent", I have to note something, so others won't claim I said the mod is "perfect".
It's just that all other things are so well-executed that I can't give him any less than Excellent. |

Now I finished it on death incarnate, I think I can give my opinion about ILOW Nocturnal.
First, I want to say that I will not rate the mod because I think my opinion is biased due to the fact that I played without saving.
Now that's said, the first ILOW was better in almost every aspect. Yeah sure there is a lot of new stuff in Nocturnal but it mostly make the game not fun to play. The snipers/rocket enemies/fast STG dudes make the game unbalanced in my opinion and just plain frustrating to play. The level design is way more vicious this time and I praised many time the RNG god to not die while fighting my way through the levels.
Also one annoying thing which was already in the first game is the weapon cap. I can understand that the weapon cap is here to not make the player overpowered but it make the ammo grabbing and the gameplay more tedious.
About the bonus weapons, well same problem as the first ILOW: 2 very usefull weapon and 1 pretty useless. I will not spoil what EP1/2 weapons are but the secret weapon of EP3 is given to the player too late in my opinion and is just a slightly better RPG (at least that's what I think it is after seeing it in action).
So overall, not a bad mod but just not fun to play without saving at every corner of every level (or maybe I'm just bad at video games ). |

Sorry for bumping old thread because finally I get a chance to login here after hell of college stuff. Anyway thank you for all you guys feedback, comments and bug report, so I can improve my modding skill in future. And thank you xdman for doing full 100% playthrough (and pointing the bug), it fun to watch them. To be honest, I feel rushed when creating this mod more than my first ILOW. Again thank you for all feedback. |
